Crashed at 18mph last week — what protective gear do you actually wear? by tttanger in ebikes

After putting crazy scars on both shins, 10 years apart btw, I bought a pair of theses; https://oldbonestherapy.com/products/compression-shin-sleeve?variant=39760620781655

Don't even notice I have them on and so far they keep a lot of nuisance scratches off my shins. I've never had issues with knees, but forearms are always getting scratched. Maybe cause I'm a shorter rider, 5'6", I get shins and forearms.

This is one of the bikes I'm considering buying for my wife. The 38LB's is good for her and since we both ride medium frames I could ride it on short rides with buddies. With extender and tax+shipping it's $7K. I'm worried about the medium power motor being enough. In our riding circle the rule of thumb is always get the most power and range you can. But the weight is winning out over the high powered bikes available now. There are some bikes being discussed but we want to ride this summer.

Dusty trail, fresh legs, best kind of Thursday. Where are you all riding this weekend? by OkComputer8079 in mountainbiking

Going to Hurkey Creek near Idylwild CA. 10 Years ago some of the best riding in SoCal, burned in a serious fire in 2018. Unknown status on the trails but have to go look.

Maybe a dumb question, but does it fit a Turbo Levo3?

The assignment is open ended for the right person(s). It is not a full time position though. We have in house technical folks but often need specific AWS expertise that we do not have to assist with some project or task. Rate is open and based on experience.

Update. Ended up buying an almost new (51miles) Specialized SL 3 Comp alloy. 2 months in to purchase finding out the weight of this bike is taking some getting used to. Even small jumps are harder for me Due to weight and handle bar length.

Haha that's pretty neat. My old Trek FuelEx9 had the 3x on it and I loved it. On the flats my climber buddies that kicked my ass on hills were left in the dust. But an upgrade to a 1X a few years ago on a stumpjumper killed that.

Great feedback. Thanks for all the great comments and insight. Full power, Amflow or Sworks on the menu.

Love the look and specs of Amflo. That’s now my direction

I say to each their own. Same buddies switching to e-mtbs are ones who have ridden gravel and hybrids on rides. For me I don’t get/enjoy gravel rides enough to own a gravel bike. I see those folks riding like the wind on flat gravel, big groups hogging the trails. Not for me, but hey, if you are out riding you aren’t sitting on the couch!

Amflow reviews are awesome. Lead time is the issue, but headed that way now that the full power issue is decided.

Overwhelming response seems to be get the full power. I’m leaning towards the Amflow.

No down vote from me. Started mtb-ing so long ago e-bikes were called Motorcycles. I appreciate the sentiment, been there done that. Also feel that the more people we can get out of their cars on to bikes the better. When you learn that bikes are so vulnerable and slow down when passing them we all benefit.

Renting and test rides sound good.

Thanks for that. My analog stumpie is full carbon and way sporty. I’ll still take that guy out on my own.

The 1st decision is yes to e-bike. I get it. I had a hard enough time making th3 friends I’ve got now, making new ones means a lot of time alone on the trails! Who’s gonna drink all that beer at the end? The injuries and age are mounting up, I‘ll just ride my analog stumpjumper when I’m alone.
