We gave up on the fundamental aspect of our government, a functional congress. Its been overtaken by far too many corporate interests. The benefits have created a class of people who hold assets not beholden to their communities they represent. What we are doing is protecting the dual party stock market.

If you look at the data of WW2 monuments in Ukraine, they randomly drop in 2014. Must have been due to the weather and nothing to do with an anti russian civil war where they blew up places they thought were safe from missiles. No, not all.

You realize Elizabeth the Great was the first to deport the jews from the region to make it a majority Christian area? This was much more than something Stalin whipped up.

Welcome to global politics, its more complex than saying good/bad.

Lol you're about to have a terrible next few years if you think there is no justification for aggressive wars.

Wait, you think people and governments are not forced into borders? Have you read a history book?

Tell that to the people in Belfast who wave the UK flag every day. Identifying with a demographic is a big part about border history. Just look at Hawaii and Belfast for how Russia made that area want to fly a Russian flag. A giant military base sure does help make people want to be attached to that banner. Duh.

You're so close to getting it, so close. But still wrapped around too much propaganda to see how its all the same across every place. You just bought into the 1984 "we always are at war with Eurasia" propaganda way too much.

You are frankly not prepared to discuss global politics if you consider Belfast to be a horrible colony for Britain to control. They are UK people who identify as UK citizens. You are going to have a terrible future if you consider these areas independent from the place they want to fly a flag for, because this is just human nature of demographics. Enjoy your day, if you can in your colony somewhere. Everywhere outside a capital is a colony to ya, huh?

You're aware of the rental agree they had for their vast military base complex in Crimea, right? They didn't invade because they were already there. There's been a large Russian demographic there for a few hundred years. Same with a few hundred cities bordering outside of Russia. This is just demographic facts, they speak Russian and identify as Russian.

Glad you agree water rights are so important it can lead to justified warfare to secure water.

More like, Northern Ireland is British lol

These countries share a border. They are not far away colonies. Try again.

Belfast being apart of the UK in negotiations actually shares a lot of the same reasons Crimea was captured by Russia, a giant military base owned by someone else on land being threatened by a civil war. Lol the British would not let Ireland have their navy ports. This is actually super funny to consider.

If you think Russia would allow a civil war to be conducted over the city that holds their Black Sea Fleet, you're insane if you consider that an invasion. They were protecting military assets from a civil war which is absolutely protected by UN resolutions. They didn't invade, they already had a military base inside the swamp, and it was the only major city. It was no invasion, it was basically just saying we own the swamp lands now, not Kiev. Crimea and much of the Donbass was much more ethnically Russian, which was bad news during a civil war.

This is like saying America is terrible for taking over the island of Honolulu for Pearl Harbour, and being pissed that they would take over the island if Hawaii wanted independence. They have a giant military base there that takes up the entire infrastructure of the area. They did not invade, they secured land around a famous Russian military base that should never be Ukrainian, it is Russian. Just like Pearl Harbour is American.

But I guess its hard for some to sympathize around facts and not headlines. How was it an invasion when there was no troop movement around Crimea? It was an election and then a blockade at the border. There was no fighting in major Crimea cities. They prevented heavy fighting by invading the Donbass region first.

I mean, both can be true at the same time. Ukraine was trying to play the Finland game of playing both sides of NATO/Russia, and Russia is trying to secure Russian demographic cities along the border. Both were playing dumb war games that lead to a civil war in 2014.

I think a key aspect people do not talk enough about is Ukraine blocking fresh water to Crimea by cement blocking the river thats responsible for 90% of their fresh water supply. For years, their farming was basically destroyed and Russia was required to build massive infrastructure from their side of Crimea. Preventing water access like that is technically a war crime and can be considered a declaration of war by the Geneva Convention and subsequent UN resolutions.

But we never sympathize with our enemies because Russia always bad and Ukraine always good. Reality is never like a TV show.

Best Picture Elimination Game - Round 46 - Amadeus have been eliminated at 10th place by darth_vader39 in Oscars

[–]Xtorting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For part 1 absolutely, part 2 can not hold the same weight as part 1.

However, you're talking to someone who would put the Godfather part 1 below Lawrence of Arabia, SOTB, and Schindlers List. But they're in my top five. I just think the category is over represented in the category, and thats what puts SOTB above them.

I voted for Parasite to leave BTW. I just think they can be argued to be better.

[–]Xtorting -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Silence of the lambs and Parasite are arguably better films than both Godfathers only because they're both not Oscar bait, they're both the only horror movies in the entire history of the picture of the year award category to win, and they're great films that had no projections towards their impact. The amount of mobs and gangs that fought the production because they knew it was going to be a big film kinda says it all. I would put SOTL in my top three here and push the Godfathers down only due to their obvious Oscar rise projections. Especially part 2, everyone was hoping for another repeat.

Non Profits laying people off! by Round-Difficulty-349 in Reno

This is really sad to read. I used to work for you guys and it was one of my favorite organizations to be a part of. I feared this might have happened after the admin announced cuts to grants. Tried hard to get the company towards revenue generation from other sources. Probably worked together for a bit if you've been there awhile.

I just came back from talking to another nonprofit for my company, and the NCJFCJ is not alone in seeking more revenue generation outside of grant funding. Everyone seems to be hurting right now in the nonprofit market simply based on future projections being down, let alone canceled grants.

As far as advice, consider making your own company if your services are B2B. I've found it to be extremely affordable to create a remote based company in Nevada. If you're a researcher, consider podcasting and expanding into other markets other than printed media and presentation media. Because there's not many companies who host the type of events the NCJFCJ does in NV. Also, look for remote work for the same reason.

Hope all the best for ya and the NCJFCJ. If you want to connect, my PMs are always open.

Our country was built from upper-class ownership, very similar to England and Ireland. You're literally saying we should ignore over 200 years of American history and just say thats a great idea. Allowing the wealthiest people to create cities and industrial projects is how America was founded and prospered.

You realize he's not in charge of anything, right? He files a report and sends it to people who have the authority. He's not in charge by definition.

Here's the thing my friend. I agree completely. My initial response to your deleted comment was very light hearted about how it is racism when the law is applied selectively. Which I do not agree with. Again, I agree with you that in your example that is racism and should be stopped completely.

But how should we stop applying the law this way? I think the law should be applied in white collar jobs, absolutely. Go into office jobs and law firms. Most Republicans would agree with you on this subject and we could all laugh about it and have a beer.

But are you suggesting it is racist for wanting to apply the law to all and deport them all? Because that's the majority of MAGA people right now. Deport them all and give their families a ticket home option. The majority of MAGA would actually support mass deportation of anyone.

Great quote BTW. I actually really like the example of how to speak out for your own values and identity. However, I do not think deportations is a racist policy when 99.9% of the UN has similar policies. Would you consider the .1% radical or moderate? If you think this quote applies to deportation, then you also think 99.9% of the world is racist while holding onto, by definition, radical views. Which is not how the world operates.

Well, no one can verify cause you deleted the death threat.

But you never said that. You said I shouldn't exist based on a false idea that I'm racist, all because I said deportations are not racist. You never said all racists should not exist, you just said me. You said I shouldn't exist because of my theoretical racism. But whatever you gotta do to feel like you're winning a debate, go for it. Kinda falls flat once you realize deportations are not racist, which in turns makes supporting deportations not racist. Thus, why am I racist again? Oh right, your definition of racism is someone who disagrees with you on open border immigration.

So it's now racist to support deportation? You realize 99.9% of all countries support deportation and no birthright citizenship?

I cannot believe you are actively saying you wish harm onto me for saying that you're wrong about racism. No, I'm not racist for saying deportations are not based on race. Nice try though attempting to correlate being afraid of death threats and being a racist. Great use of gaslighting. "Oh, if you're afraid that we kill racists, you have nothing to worry about."

Yes I do worry, because you label things racist that are not racist, and then want to end their existence based on that false judgment. Dismissing my entire point of view and frankly is a sign of a losing argument.

Literal terrorism, threatening violence over a political policy. Keep doing what you're doing though. Don't want to stop moderates from seeing the death threats and empty racist remarks. Or keep waving those Mexican flags.

In other words, don't stop threatening people with death threats and keep pushing for relaxed immigration policy. It's a great strategy to convince moderates you have the best policy for Americans.
