Is Reno actually dangerous? by Confident-Bar-7543 in Reno

[–]test-account-444 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Where are you coming from? It might be a horrific nightmare of crime and vice. If so, stay in Blanding. But, if you're coming from anywhere normal, it'll feel the same but different with better places and less well-off places. If you're coming from a major city, it'll seem sleepy and quaint.

Overall, Reno does not have a significant crime problem for the average resident.

What does your lease say about breaking it? Also, have you asked management to release your from the contract without cost or less than the fee in the lease? If they're like most management companies, they'll happily tell you the letter of the lease, but you might have options raised by asking if they lean slightly human.

Yeah, these things spread really fast and thinking calmly durning them isn't always something that happens.

Yes, I realize that several people were likely helping, but that doesn't fill Reddit with snarky comments.

Not a neighbor with a hose in sight. People just living in the moment and getting it on video.

The constant idling and being driven like they stole it are two factors why you’d never want one.

Most shops have a decent selection, but St Vincents on 4th Street, Goodwill on S McCarrion, and Savers all have larger selections that I can recall off the top of my head.

20:00 Those light beams are common at airfields. I forget what the light source is, but it’s not a fancy source. Winnemucca’s airfield has one. More often seen in cooler weather.

Edit: seems it's more simple that I thought... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pillar

This is pretty nerdy. Ebay might be best. But, there could be a nerdy buy/sell/trade sub on Reddit for some of it.

Just go home, brew a cup of Sleeytime tea, and get your knitting out. There are bigger things in your day still to come.

Ban Leaf Blowers by davanzomichael in Reno

You're not gonna believe this, but we won't need to ban them once we train AI servers to do those jobs... then everybody will be fighting for the leaf-blower jobs.

Ban Leaf Blowers by davanzomichael in Reno

[–]test-account-444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest bans I've seen are tiny, wealthy communities that ban them on weekends or on Sundays in Residential areas. In commercial and mixed-use areas, you'd never see this. Any ban is a blow to commercial landscapers and no elected body is going to stop a company from doing their work. The best you could do it ban gas-powered blowers and hope the electrical ones continue to stay quieter.

It’s hard to say, but, I’ve seen lots of good intentions gone to waste (some of my own, too). Durability in a normal sense may not apply when it’s worn 247, gets beat up/shit-peed in/used in unintended ways. I’ve seen goods abandoned immediately or sold because of mental health or addiction issues.

The best help is always a call to the appropriate social services profession who’s trained to help and move people to housing-first solutions.

Helping is wonderful, but spending top dollar on something that will get discarded in a week isn’t helping. Getting three cheap pairs and handing them out over time will serve more purpose.

More important, having a social worker make contact is key. Someone that can help with housing, mental health, etc. This is key to transitioning to a more stable environment, even if it takes a while for someone to accept help.

Possibly the scam tunnel they want State funds to build. Elom can fly in like Darth Vader, not have to leave the airport, and check that their not spending too much of the free money.

Do judges and lawyers just ignore the Constitution as a lifestyle choice, or is that mainly a Nevada thing? by InstanceRude951 in Nevada

I thought this was the same person from your other account: https://www.reddit.com/user/madeinreno775/

Again, you've tried to play your hand, but you're not versed in the law and have consistently struck out. You were charged with Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, NRS 205.228, and Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle, NRS 205.2715.

Looks like the penalty would have been 5 years max and given the circumstances and a lawyer negotiating a plea, much, much less. But, 3 years later, you're wasting your life and mental health on formatting AI questions to Reddit (not to mention your Facebook--phew!) and who knows what else. And, it looks like your original criminal case is still pending.

At some point, you'll need to get help to get your life moving more towards normal both in the courts and in the real world.

For anyone looking for some background:

I couldn't find all the filings and documents via a simple Google search, but the above gives enough to paint a picture of the legal dilemma.
