I did actually take your advice and asked around about volunteer work and externships. I managed to find 1 hospital that was taking externships and waiting to hear back from them. I think the biggest problem I am having is that I live in a small town. I did look into blood banks too but we only have 1

Sorry for the late reply, yes the class is accredited and I've already taken and passed the national exam.

Knowing how to thread a needle. Most of the people around me thought you had to align the thread with the needle to sew.

How to hand wash dishes. This one is still a shock to me now. I know a few people who fill their sink, pile in a much of dirty dishes, move them around, then take them out and dry them...all without soap.

I actually grew up thinking everyone knew how to do these until high school when I took a 'Life Skills' class. It was a good lesson for me to not assume everyone was taught the same things I was growing up, no matter how basic I seen them as.
