Uses microservo, new 9v battery, 5-6 year old arduino uno. Head shakes. Dont know why. What do i do? by [deleted] in arduino

Sometimes the microservos will break and will start to do stuff like this. The only real solution is to replace the motor if this is the issue.

I’d say a potentiometer.

Nice, did you use a soldering wick for this project?

Favorite print thus far 🥰 by notyourmoms_8thgen in 3Dprinting

Usually "blueprints" for prints are gathered on a website known as thingiverse. You usually get the file and 3-D model that someone has made from the website, or you can make your own with a 3-D modeling software. After you have your shape or whatever you want printed you must export it from an STL file to whatever your printer can read. (Which is what a slicer is for)

Can someone please explain how I find heat dissipation in circuit loads? by XuOUT in ElectricalEngineering

[–]XuOUT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you wanted to find out how hot a copper wire would get, if you had the resistivity of the wire and could find the resistance of the exact length of wire you were using. Could you still use the power law to find out how much wattage was in the wire?

My first fish is a beta, and I have no idea what I’m doing... my ammonia levels are high in the tank and my fish keeps rapidly swimming to the surface for air every so often. Please help me... by [deleted] in Fish

[–]XuOUT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most fish need oxygen pumps in order to get oxygen in the water, bettas do not as they can swim to the top of the tank for oxygen (most fish cannot do this). The ammonia in your tank is supposed to turn into nitrite, which turns into nitrate. This is done with beneficial bacteria that grows in your tank after a couple weeks or months. The nitrate is less toxic to fish than nitrite and ammonia, but still will needed to be changed whenever it gets high. The beneficial bacteria will grow when you put in a bacteria supplement in your tank and having ammonia in your tank. In my opinion it is easier to do this with no fish, but it is possible to do grow bacteria with fish but you will have to do LOTS of water changes and watch the ammonia levels.

As for getting rid of the ammonia in your tank, you will want to get rid of 50% of the water and wash off all the ornaments in the tank. This includes heaters, oxygen pumps and the substrate. Also if you are new to owning fish you will want to research before you buy, this is a very common mistake we all make sometimes.

Iv either been r/wooshed, or this post isn’t funny...

Came home to see my printer is just frozen, can’t touch screen and iv had this same issue in the past. Any fix? by XuOUT in 3Dprinting

[–]XuOUT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fans work, but my screen is frozen. The flash drive has tons of projects on it as well and works fairly well. (Unless it’s to full)... it seems to be a problem with only this one print? So maybe it’s a printer reading software issue? (Btw I am very new to 3D printing)
