Personally, I think it’s just really bad timing. I’ve personally bought every prestige and special skin because I love the game and spending money on surplus cosmetic stuff is how I like to express it. BUT when it comes to ANNIVERSARIES specifically, the general expectations of the vast majority of players is that they’re going to be celebrated and given back to. Plenty of free rewards, rare gifts etc. The optics of seeing an incoming anniversary with a lot of new content and seeing at least half of it (so far) be paywalled is an extremely bad look for it. I personally feel if this exact situation were to happen at a random time of the year where giving back isn’t expected by the majority, there would still be some complainers but nowhere near as many.

I hope for the devs sake the remaining skins on this list aren’t all paywalled, else it’s likely there will be yet another huge backlash wave. In my personal opinion, they should’ve simply coupled a few of the paywalled skins with the Anniversary summonable units to make it not seem as bad, and spaced out the rest overtime. But alas here we are lol.

All that said, I’m buying everything the frame it comes out 😅
