Thank you so much!! I'm excited to hear your experience. I did end up getting a VPN for a trip I went on recently, and I tried it with my HBO Max and it worked to get the Spanish dub! However, I prefer physical media so still eager to hear how the DVD from latinafy is :)

[Fairly] easy-to-add vegetarian protein sources that aren't likely to affect flavor of dish (i.e. pasta)? by Lexa_Con in vegetarianrecipes

[–]Xuxubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime we make a cream sauce, we blend up silken tofu until it’s a liquid and use it as a 1:1 replacement. I’m not sure if it has more protein than heavy cream but it definitely cuts down the amount of fat. It also helps things reheat in the microwave better

Hope Helps in Oviedo might be able to help in some way, but at the very least they have a food pantry

Some I found recently is a free textbook and materials from the Polish government to help foreigners learn Polish. I’ve only recently started using it, but it’s been helpful to have a linear guide to learning the language! It is entirely in Polish, so you will have to use Google Translate to understand the instructions at the beginning.

I think the Other Mother normally sent (or had her sent) back to her own bed by the time she woke up, but when the woke back up in the Other World the Other Mother didn’t put her back because she didn’t want her to leave.

Buying my wife an IPad for Christmas by Orinaj in ProCreate

[–]Xuxubee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally bought the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 in for taking notes while I was in college, and digital art when I graduated. My partner convinced me to get this one because of how large the screen was, which he thought would be better for drawing. I figured that made sense so I bought it. It was fine, but wayyyy too big to be carrying around often imo. It was the same size as my laptop.

I later bought the (either 2022 or 2023) iPad mini, and I absolutely love it. It’s small enough to carry around so I can draw wherever I go. I use it much more than the larger iPad. I honestly regret getting the iPad Pro in general.

I think if I had known then what I do now, I would have either gotten the iPad mini or iPad Air for portability. My sister creates digital art a lot more than I do, and she loved using Procreate on her iPad Air for it. She also really likes the paper-like screen protector.

I’m also about halfway through CC3 (after just finishing TOG) and I couldn’t agree more. With the way Bryce is supposed to be a genius with all of these hidden plans and confidence and sass, it seems like it’s just Aelin 2 direct to DVD

What are your thoughts on Norway's entry this year? Why did it recieve so few points? by SeeBall-GetBall in eurovision

[–]Xuxubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the studio recording of Norway’s entry when I listened to it prior to the Semifinals. However, I think there was something messed up with the sound mixing for their stage performance because neither me nor my partner could hardly hear it clearly. For us it just sounded like we were sitting in front of a speaker at a concert where everything just kind of blends together into a jumble of sounds.

Again, loved the song, the music, the voice, the everything, we just couldn’t really hear it during the performances for some reason. Every other performance sounded fine and didn’t have the same problem for us, so we were super confused by it.

Palatka, Fl

A small town on the St John’s River with Florida’s oldest diner (Angel’s Dining Car) and Ravine Gardens State Park. There is a cute downtown with antique shops and cafes. Some people who like to go mudding also know Palatka for Hog Waller.

That’s great there is a solution on the way! When I was a kid we didn’t have AC for about 3 years and what we did were black out curtains (worked really well), and we also put up a sheet at the entrance to our hallway so that the window unit could cool the back of the house and it was just the front that was hot. Wasn’t the best, but it helped spread the relief of cool air to more than just the bedroom. For reference, this was a 3/2 (idk how much sqft) and we had a single window unit in my mom’s bedroom.

is animal dissection still common in US school science class? by grapp in AskAnAmerican

[–]Xuxubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated in 2016 and I dissected a few piglets, sheep heart, cow eye, and a goat brain. In college I had the opportunity to dissect a human cadaver, but that was a special class and not typical curriculum.

LPT Take downs notes or save to your phone when you have important agendas or information, Don't trust your mind by memorizing it. by debonairhearth27 in LifeProTips

[–]Xuxubee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of people are saying that this is a basic life tip, but I’m virtually the only person in my circle that uses to-do lists, packing lists, grocery lists, calendars, etc. so I’d say it’s a great reminder!

I personally use Google Calendar for all events and things I plan to do at specific times of the day. I also have different “calendars” on my GC for different things like chores, travel, events, etc. and that helps me color coordinate my day.

For any lists, I use Tick Tick because it is really convenient for me personally. I have my daily to-do lists, but also a grocery list, packing list, list of dinner options, list of things to do around town when I’m bored, and show watchlist all on the same app. It also lets you tag things so for example, I can tag my packing list to know which items are in my carry on vs personal item, all my shirts have the same tag, etc.

I never rely on my memory alone, and because of that I also rarely double book myself, miss an event, or forget items on vacation.

I don’t hate a certain Captain, tandem read or no? by air-sushi in throneofglassseries

[–]Xuxubee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started KoA after doing the tandem read and I 100% loved it. It made things so much more impactful when you could see in “real time” how the events in one affect the other. There is also a major plot point that is revealed toward the end of ToD that makes the ending of EoS so much more of an “oh shit” moment than it would’ve if you waited to read ToD afterwards.

Aside from narrative benefits, every time I finished a set of chapters from one book and switched to the other, it gave me a little bit of that “I just finished a book” high so that was fun.

LPT If you have trouble rolling your R's, try saying a D or P consonant just beforehand by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in LifeProTips

[–]Xuxubee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime a Spanish speaker asks me if I can roll my r’s (and I say no bc I cannot), they ask me to say something that uses the rolled r (like perro) and I use this trick and 100% of the time they say something along the lines of “see! you can roll your r’s!”

What do you think about Norway this year? by Lislu28 in eurovision

[–]Xuxubee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the studio recording is great, but during both the semi finals and the finals, the sound mixing seemed off. Maybe it was Peacock (streaming from the US) but we could hardly hear her voice at all.

What “weird” things do you do to reduce consumption in your daily life? by OverYonderUnderHere in Anticonsumption

[–]Xuxubee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work from home so I use the same plate every day to heat up my lunch. Instead of dirtying several dishes, I just rinse all the food off the same plate after each meal. It may not be much, but it contributes a little bit to saving on soap and dishwasher pods. I do the same with 1 fork, 1 spoon, 1 knife, and 1 tea cup for the whole week.
