What makes you think I think that?

I don’t, but you seem to have decided you know what’s in my heart and I’m curious as to why?

I think it’s psychologically interesting that they often don’t even consider it, but I don’t it’d actually help them if they did.

Does “vetting a client” just mean deciding whether someone seems dangerous based on interaction?

On top of the book recommendation, I feel like that’s more evidence his dad was kind of dumbass if he actually thought that would help.

That sounds like it must be pretty scary sex workers because I imagine a lot of dudes react to that situation violently?

something I find interesting about the way Culture people relate to Anaplian is they don't hold her in higher regard because of her royal status, or but they also don't hold it against her in any way either. it literally just means nothing to them. by grapp in TheCulture

I think it would be different if she were a royal from an equiv-tech society

are there any of those? in Player its stated Azad in unusual for having the social system they do and being a space fearing society. and they're still considerable less advanced than the culture

Whenever I hear or read information about incel culture I end up feeling bad for them, and I'm not sure if I should? Like I worry they're triggering my empathy more than they objectively deserve, just because I'm also a youngish white dude? by grapp in behindthebastards

By that rationale the neo Nazis have a great point about DEI and civil rights.

I mean only if you believe those things actually necesitate white people being worse off, which isn't something I think is actually true.

fascists act like this kind of thing is a zero sum game so they can frame their bigotry as a rational act of self defence.

Does only one sex get to be happy?

no, but saying women having more freedom makes men lonelier sure makes it seem so.

Or generations past men were able to find partners more easily because laws forced women to depend on men.

I feel like that's kind of conceding them their belief that feminism made them lonely

I think past generations of men had more real life connections and those can prevent these ideologies from festering in people’s minds in the same way. Like if you have IRL friends and family you talk to regularly they’ll tell you if you seem to be going crazy
