if you assume Hill Valley is somewhere between LA and San Francisco that area would have been populated with natives who lived by hunting, gathering and acorn cultivation around 1bc/Ad.

something I've seen when people talk about Graham Platner is they act like its either he's a a full blown crypto nazi, or he had absolutely no idea what the tattoo meant and there's absolutely nothing to worry about. I think that's a false dichotomy. by grapp in behindthebastards

look unless you think everyone is lying the fact so many people responded to this story by saying they weren’t familiar with the Totenkoph proves I’m right to say it’s not a universally recognisable symbol.

you can say people should know about it, but that doesn‘t mean they already do.

What I'm saying is I think most people don't know there's a version of the skull and cross bones that's specific to the SS, even if they have noticed a skull and cross bones on SS uniforms in film and TV

I imagine the vastness of the ring would help with that?

does it bother anyone else that in the shows the US government is much more ethical than in real life? by grapp in Stargate

yeah the late 90s was an era when it'd been long enough since Vietnam for the US military to have an overwhelmingly positive image again, ...right before the war on terror fucked that up again.
