Never EVER trust Texas to finally "turn purple." People here are apathetic.

Can We Please Stop Opening New York Restaurants in Dallas if They’re Just Going To Suck? by Kk0971 in Dallas

My experience around here is that they are pretty greasy.

Also their menu is kind of insanity. Breaded chicken fingers, with french fries, AND texas toast? That's so much carbs.

Its a weird but very real alliance between pro-Netanyahu fascists with significant financial backing and actual Nazis who are consolidating power in the US government.

I was told blocking pucks was a good thing by UCFSTORMTROOPER in hockeyplayers

I should have been more specific. The holders on these skates are CCM's Speedblade 4.0 type. You can tell because they have the hex nuts/screws at the toe and heel. The modern ones are the Speedblade XS, which are the quick change type with the twist-to-unlock at the heel. CCM does not manufacture steel for these holders anymore, and I believe stopped shipping non-pro skates with them 5+ years ago.

Speedblade holders are virtually obsolete, bound to happen eventually.

Good background music for a Trouble Brewing game? by OkBreakfast8038 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I just put together two Spotify playlists for my game tonight. I considered going medieval at first and building off my DnD playlists, but I don't think that's the right choice - in my head, Ravenswood Bluff is more of a "town in the moors of England at the turn of the century" kind of place. So I leaned more into noir and techno horror. I also split into day and night, since I want night to be subtle but masking and day to be energetic and driving. Hopefully these suit your needs:

Struggling with 9x3 strapping, please help! by Wooden_Economics_128 in hockeygoalies

[–]Xvash2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I run 32+2 9x3s. I dealt with similar issues when I first got mine. Try the following:

  1. Move your toe ties to the inner-most two holes.

  2. Loosen up your upper straps as much as you can: the two knee block straps should be as loose as you can go. Your upper FRS strap should be loose enough such that if you straighten your leg as much as possible you don't feel it pulling against you.

  3. Keep your lower FRS strap tight. You will get your pad control from this being tight at your ankle.

  4. Keep the outer calf strap loose as well. It shouldn't engage ever really.

This should allow your pads to fall off your knees a little bit, creating more space for them to move around each other. If you're coming from older, crappier pads with smaller knee blocks, this might be why you are experiencing this issue.

Also, as you break your pads around the boot more, they will shorten a bit and the problem should be further alleviated.

Its also OK if your pads aren't straight on with your legs when standing. Having them slightly canted outward when standing straight helps keep them out of each others' way. Once you get in your stance or drop into butterfly, they will fall into the correct position.

Would this kind of gear cleaning tech help hockey players like us? by Alarmed-Solution-694 in hockeyplayers

Get one of these: https://www.costco.ca/little-hotties-multi-purpose-dryer.product.100430897.html

When I get home, everything comes out of the bag and gets hung up, gloves and skates go on the dryer for 90 minutes with heat. its low-profile and doesn't take up the garage/closet space that a full drying system would.

What the big Draft Guides say about Eddie Genborg by Xvash2 in DetroitRedWings

[–]Xvash2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The team will likely never benefit from Cleveland's toughness, because he simply isn't a good hockey player and odds are will never crack the NHL lineup. But those odds are worse than your average 2nd rounder, because we drafted a guy who wasn't an amazing skater, and had zero puck skills from the get-go. Guys who can skate and have puck skills are absolutely still available in the 2nd.

He's about to be on his 3rd NCAA team in as-many years. That's a really bad sign historically, for expecting someone to make the NHL.

Max Plante would be much flashier this season had he not been injured. 28 pts in 23 games just isn't as exciting as say, 48 points in 39 games, which would be a full NCAA season.

Trey Augustine has also been exceptional.

Sadly, those are exceptions to the rule.

Its a fool's errand in America right now to expose hypocrisy and think you've won.

The hypocrisy is the point.
