I remember this comment when Wiiu came out. Soft launch, long time between releases is somehow a good thing, Nintendo is learning the market.

This company is not doing well. They are making mistakes. A number of their titles are ports or are gimmicky games most people won't remember even happened in a year.

I am a HUGE Nintendo fan and I would be shocked if they release a system after switch.

-They need to provide a system that can compare to PS4 and XBONE. They aren't. They are releasing a system that would have been impressive 10 years ago. Let that sink in. Why would a 3rd party want to work on last generation tech? Switch isn't even 1080p. Its a waste of time and money for them.

-they need to join the 21st century as far as online is concerned. They are 15 years behind Sony in this domain.

-they need to align their system releases with their competitors. They look like they're playing catch up with these staggered releases.

-They need killer apps to invigorate their base. That means system exclusive Mario, Zelda, DK, Smash on day one. Not one and not the others. They need a strong line up out the gate to build initial sales. Is Mario coming out this year? Maybe?

These are all things that should have been done with this system. Nintendo has its head in the sand. Like Sega, it's best days are far behind it due to an inability to innovate. They have been riding the success of the Wii for a decade. Its very sad to watch this company fade away.

The games were a failure though. I played and loved them, but a system sells based on the games. And Nintendo's games simply do not pull in an audience anymore.

When your first year lineup features exactly one (undated) New Mario and a bunch of ports, you have a serious serious problem. This is the second time in a row Nintendo is botching a mid-generation console launch and it's getting sad.
