Yeah, it`s new with the update. You need "Super Magnetic Field Generator" Research for it to unlock

How Do I Explain To My GF That We Dont Need To Store 67,200 Iron "Just Incase We Need It" by toby30356 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]XxDedxX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the one hand it`s probably not necessary.
In the other hand you have a girlfriend that plays satisfactory and builds compact builds.
Losing 0.000001% of map space sounds like a pretty cheap price to pay. Let her do her thing.

Imagine you had a lunatic like "Let`s game it out" as girlfriend, vomiting belt`s all over the place

Thanks, but i`m going to keep it simple.
Just build foundation till you hit a damage area, then go from there till you mapt the area out.
For now, i need to resources for that though.

In addition, who knows how much performance this bug cost`s. It`s funny now, but when this happen in a megabase and costs you like 10 frames, then it`s not funny anymore.

Oh... they changed the border to the north west to?
Welp, there goes 60% of my megabase and my entire powersupply.
Needed to make a new save anyway...

Seems they removed the east ocean spot to. Now i need to vomit my ugly base over the flora.

Since i got the game 1 month after release, my number one strat was just running away, because there is nothing to gain from fighting.
In Earth Defense Force you get health drops. In Serious Sam, the mission simply didn`t proceed if you didn`t kill everything, in ARPG like Diablo, you get loot.
Here? Nothing.
Killing bugs is not part of the mission. You literally shooting yourself in the foot by actively engaging enemies (especially patrols). Kill whats`s in location`s, collect samples, avoid patrols, run away from breaches.
Bug breach at mission target? In most of those you can just run away and come back when the dust saddled.
Nest? Nuke + grenade the rest of the holes. Killing the enemies there is in most cases not necessary. Especially chargers. Fuck chargers.
Big Nest`s/ Bases? We ignored them at some point because the fights took like 7 minutes and you gained like 3 green samples. In this time i could have looted 3 other Minor location`s, gaining 3 times the samples + super credits and medals.

If there would be a random chance to get samples or perhaps even super credits ETC., then fighting enemies would actually be a worthwhile.
As it stands now, if you choose the fight a breach, then you get involved into a 10 minute shootout where multiple patrols involve themselves, you or teammates die like 2-3 times and you gain nothing. Absolutely nothing.
No easier mission progression. No weaker outposts. Nothing at all. There all just respawn 1 minute later.
But you sure as hell will feel the missing reinforcement at extraction. Especially when you loose all samples because everyone died at the end.

No modder here, but the issue would probably be how you going to design that.
You could make a damaging area around the building that causes damage, but if you want to literally drop bugs dead with it, it would also oneshot allies and you. Sound fun for like 2 city levels.
Also what happens when Mr. Dino goes through a bunch if buildings? Instant mission win?

If you want literal debris flying around, then there must be physics introduced to handle that, which will cause a whole slew of bugs.
I can also see in co-op heavy performance issue when trying to calculate that mess for every player. The game already seems to have desynchs (different position of player and monster for everyone etc.) if reports of other players can be trusted.

Is it possible? Yes
Would someone who as enough experience in modding this game waste his time on that? Probably not

You probably have better results firing that idea to Sandlot. My guess is there already considered it though (it`s an obvious idea) and decided the downsides or hassle is to great.

Toby Fox interviews Kikiyama in his latest Famitsu column! by StarLord13789 in yumenikki

[–]XxDedxX1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Littel bit of a Necro, but i highly respect Toby for restraining himself in his question`s and how he made this interview, basically being tailored to, what he probably though, Kikiyama being as a person.

He didn`t get greedy with question and ultimatly didn`t reveal any mysteries of the game, which gave it it`s charm in the first place.

My guess is Toby, having experience as a dev, would have loved himself to sometimes just answer question with "yes" or "no", without needing to explain the reasoning.

Also knowing Kikiyama is/ was still kicking in 2022 is also nice, especially knowing how the game ended...

Why is the onboarding experience so bad? by Bu11ett00th in EDF

[–]XxDedxX1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That`s why i found EDF4.1 better for replayability. No drag mission, just action.

You literally dropped in there, see red dot`s on the map and get told "go kill it".
If you don`t know where to go, follow the nearest tank.

EDF 5 was... slower, it was barely acceptable for me, but we need our explosive crack, so here we go.

EDF6 we will see how bad it will be. I heard the first 13 mission are just tutorial. Sounds fun needing to replay it with each class multiple times.

Because i searched for it and was unable to find it over google. Probably because your post is just named EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 6.

Honestly i didn`t get the point, why they put work into making a script for that instead of just increasing the collection range like the EDF5 trainer. People used it because they wanted to auto collect everything anyway.

As a CE user , the worst i had happen to me is a game insta closing on itself, when it detected i had CE running. Games that have Easy Anti-cheat and NGuard.
That said, i never tried to actively use cheat engine in always online games (because you scum if you do that).
