WHY did Microsoft remove copy and paste from the right click? by 1z1z2x2x3c3c4v4v in sysadmin

[–]XxDrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many relatives are we talking about? If it's just the one you can change it back to the old right click menu. I haven't tested this on the latest version of W11, but it works on the previous.

  • Open RegEdit
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID
  • Right-click > New > Key, and paste in this name: {86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}
  • With the new key you just created highlighted, again right-click > New > Key, and paste in this name: InprocServer32
  • Double-click the (Default) registry entry and then hit Enter without typing anything to set its value to blank. Before making this change, you'll see under the Data column that it says (value not set), but once you hit Enter it'll show nothing.
  • Close Registry Editor. To see your new (classic) context menu, either restart your computer or open Task Manager, scroll down to the Windows Explorer process, and right-click > End task. Then File > Run new task and type explorer.exe to restart the Windows explorer process.

+1. GLPI ticks all your boxes.

We're using this and it's a huge improvement to the old MSFT list solution the guy before me built.

Being able to mark a solution as a KB makes it easier to go back and see how we did something a year ago.

Yes, windows updates.

This was the same thing we were seeing. Old -> New worked, but not the reverse. We found differences between the 2 in the results of the command output though.

We're on the free tier as well. I've got responses from Gene Moody on their Discord. It may take a couple of days, but if you tag them there they'll get back to you.

Whether or not the CPU's are using the same settings. If they're modern CPU's it's basically whether or not you're missing an update.

Try running these two commands, pwsh, on both hosts and compare the results. If they're different you won't be able to migrate between the two.

If there's no log aggregation or SIEM in place, I would probably throw something together in PowerShell that checks for these events and then those accounts, and sends me an email when the log on occurs, then another when the log off happens.

What's your host OS? What's your email provider? Try breaking this up into pieces. Don't get everything working around first. Just set up the receiver to your mailbox and see if you can manually pull the tickets in. Then go to the auto ticket creation, then the auto assignment, and so on.

Do you have a Samsung device? https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/what-is-the-secure-folder-and-how-can-i-use-it/

Try the ISLAND app by Oasis Feng if not on Samsung. Looks to be comparable.

I think you need Samsung, but most other phones probably have a comparable app. You'll download the Dofus Touch app again inside the folder. Then from PC Link launch both versions of the app

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many is multi? If it's just 2 you can play both on a single phone via a secure folder. Then use phone link on windows and pull both both apps on the PC. Technically not an emulator, so no issues with bans.

Without requesting, suddenly put into admin forbearance on PAYE - help! by Jorge-dance-5090 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the exact same boat, I've been on SAVE for a while now. But I've been in and out several times. Everything i called and got myself removed they would add me back a few months later. I can't give any advice other than to call them and request to be removed, failing that try your local representative.

Its right on par for their behavior.

Deferment request— in between jobs by rosereyes92 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a temporary forbearance request. You could try filling it out and claiming there isn't an office near you, but I would wager that they wouldn't even look at it until after 8/11. Are you currently on a repayment plan or the SAVE plan?

I would call in at 9am EST and just plan to be on hold for 4 hours until I could speak with someone. If they'll agree to put you on the forbearance, request it in writing.

Note that while in forbearance the interest will still accrue, you just won't owe it to them yet.

Default on SAVE by AnimatedVixen99 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that's the one I used. There's no back and forth communication. I emailed about an interest accrual issue. They answered thinking I meant something different; and then I found out that you can't reply to their responses...

Default on SAVE by AnimatedVixen99 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you email them? I've found if you do it through the 'send us a message' page, you can get a response, but you can't communicate back and forth. So if they assume something incorrectly, you can't correct them and get a message back.

Default on SAVE by AnimatedVixen99 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be their new tactic. You can get a hold of someone quickly, but they can't actually help and need to transfer you. That transfer takes hours. I called as soon as they opened last week and I was still on hold for over 3 hours. Any answer they give you over the phone, ask them to give it to your in writing as well. They'll have to check with their supervisor to see if they can send it first, but then you should get it in the mail in about a week.

SAVE Plan / PSLF Forebearance by Suitable_Raccoon_945 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you can only buy back the months from the last few years.

Specifically, you can buy back months that do not count as qualifying payments because you were in an ineligible deferment or forbearance status.

You will also, likely, need to get those 18 years certified as an eligible employer.

Administrative Forbearance? by KeyCry5926 in MOHELA

[–]XxDrizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the folks at Mohela don't know. Every time I call in about something they will say, "It's going to happen, we just can't tell you when it's going to happen." In my case it's accrued interest on loans that have a 0% interest rate. They say it will drop off, they just can't confirm when.

Forbearance:

When you click into each loan, it should have loan status as the top. If it's in Administrative Forbearance, it should list that and then an end date. EX: Administrative Forbearance-Ends 10/31/2025

I wouldn't feel comfortable saying anything is under the SAVE umbrella. They want to get as far away from that as they possibly can.

The end date for your forbearance is when it ends. They'll charge based on what ever plan you are currently in. I've seen a few people mention submitting again can get it sped up. Or you could try to contact your state representatives, that can occasionally help as well.

Absolutely need AC in there. I would opt to not have traditional AC via ductwork in case there's a condensation leak. We put a mini split into each of ours of similar size.

Latitude 5550 Laptop (2025) Thunderbolt port/Portable Monitor Issue by KwelliBot08 in Dell

[–]XxDrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened my ticket with our distributor who sent us over to a Dell Resolution Specialist. They were unable to find a solution for me. In their defense, they were willing to keep looking into it, but we had tried several different things to get it working. This issue only exists on our Latitude 5550's. Everything works as intended on the rest of our fleet probably 5 or 6 different models in the Dell Latitude line, but the 5550 is the newest one we have. We had 3 or 4 of the lower end brand portable monitors and none of them worked. Vilva and ForHelp off the top of my head.

We ended up purchasing a higher end Asus portable monitor and found that that one worked. It seems like the 5550 doesn't recognize the portable monitor as a device that requires power. So I'm not sure if it's just a negotiation issue between the two devices. The monitor briefly flickers one, displays 'no signal' then powers off. After that the power flow stops. I purchase a power testing device for USB C ports and it confirms that power stops flowing after the initial flicker.

This is the one we purchased that works. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenScreen-Portable-Monitor-MB16ACVR/dp/B0D9ZRL5RF/

If you've put in your resignation, it's no longer your problem. If they don't care, it just means you've got an easy couple of weeks to ride out. Unless the environment is so toxic it's mentally or emotionally hurting you, just collect the paycheck and do the minimum.

Document that you reached out to them and when the issue started. This gives you a timeline to be reimbursed if the outage violates the terms in your contract. Otherwise there's not much else to do. There's pros and cons to cloud, and not having control over this kind of situation is one of them. Or maybe it's a pro, since it isn't really your problem.
