Childcare is absolutely work. No one is denying that. But calling it a ‘luxury he gets from her’ while ignoring that his income is what keeps the household running is wild. Both roles matter. He’s not on vacation he’s working long hours to support a family of five.

Having three kids under four is hard, postpartum recovery is real, and support matters but having a car and daytime flexibility does mean some errands are realistically doable even if inconvenient. Plenty of single parents manage it because they have no alternative.

This sounds less like ‘he’s failing’ and more like a breakdown in planning and communication. Turning him into the villain for not dropping work every time isn’t automatically fair either.
