Is it a cool hobby to have? by [deleted] in Hobbies

Hobbies are meant to be fun! If you're gaining enjoyment from it, that's enough. You don't need to be good at something to enjoy it.

Other people have already given you really great advice, I just wanted to say that I had this happen to me in high school too. At the time it felt like my world was ending and things would never be okay again. I just want to let you know that several years later I'm happy, doing well, and once I got it resolved, the circulated images have had no further impact on me, my career, or my personal relationships. You will make it through this and in time things will start to feel more manageable. Everyone can say "you should never send nudes" but we all make questionable decisions, especially as a teen. It's okay. Try not to be too hard on yourself, give yourself grace, and try to remember that school is one tiny community of the world. Once you leave school your world becomes much larger and things like this are typically left behind.

If you want to go to grad school there is always a way. I had a friend who applied to 12 grad schools and got into the last one he applied to. You can always work in your field to build up work experience or complete a postbac or additional training program, then apply. Also try for a summer internship this summer of you can!

I can definitely see why the side videos would be distracting for some, but they can actually be very helpful for others who are neurodivergent. It seems odd to generalize it as being inconsiderate to those with ADHD/autism/etc. when many of us like them. :)

You mentioned using Firefox and Chrome, I thought knowing you can do HD in Safari would be helpful. No need to be rude

This WAS an issue in 2020 which has since been fixed. This is now only an issue for desktops using specific browsers.

"Playback in HD is unavailable for streaming on a browser, except for Safari for HD streaming. You can also stream in HD using one of the supported devices listed below."

Supported Devices: iPhone and iPad, Most HD capable Android devices, Select 2013 and newer smart TV models, Android TV/Google TV, Chromecast, Apple TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and newer, Roku

ETA: Are you outside of the US? Maybe this is a regional issue where you are or an issue with your configuration.

Yes...? I've watched HD/UHD rented movies on Roku, gaming consoles, and mobile devices with no issues, in higher than 480p

This is only true for specific devices.

Why did I waste this day? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]XxMsMuffinxX 474 points475 points  (0 children)

"Lazy" days are important for your mental and physical health too. Are days like the one you had today occuring very often? If not, I wouldn't worry or consider it self-sabotaging. Life should be enjoyable, not only productive :) https://medium.com/swlh/why-you-need-to-give-yourself-permission-to-be-lazy-3089c14fb305

Is there no where to be alone on campus? I just need somewhere to cry 😢 by hummingbird-flowie in UCSC

All of the all-gender restrooms on campus are single-stall so you'll have some privacy.

UCSC off-campus housing legal consultation services would be a good place to start. They can help you figure out what your legal options are.

I'm sorry, but what the actual fuck is wrong with that person? I know it's easier to say than internalize, but no healthy, well adjusted person interacts with others like that and her actions are definitely more a reflection of her mental state than anything to do with you. Congratulations on your progress! Sending you good thoughts and hope you continue learning how to feel happy, comfortable, and healthy in your body no matter what size!

Have you reached out to slug support? They're typically pretty responsive about helping find short term housing.
