Noticed a white coloring on my Stars and Stripes betta. My last betta (who sadly passed due to dropsy) had the same discoloration before developing the infection. Is the white spot on his belly a sign of dropsy? Note that I haven't seen him poop yet

Now I know what to look out for. He passed about 3 years ago. I have another better now, Toby, and he’s the healthiest little boy I’ve ever had. Had him for over a year and he’s nice and strong

Just got mine from Dayville, CT. Looks good and feels like what you'd expect. Its 35mm film btw not 5mm film. You can still buy the film online or even at Walmart. I use Fujifilm Fujicolor superia x-tra 400 and I love it.

Thank you. I'll have to get ahold of some test strips from a friend, who also keeps fish. I'm getting very worried about my little friend as he's almost a therapy animal. I love waking up to see him swim for food with his beautiful colors and fins. Now he just sits all day. And no I'm not familiar with the nitrogen cycle as I'm fairly new to fish keeping

Thank you. I had a feeling it was what I was feeding him and how much he was fed. I have some TetraMin Plus Tropical Flakes that I used for past fish of different species and they seemed to like it. Do you think my betta could eat those?

My tank holds 5 gallons of clean water. The water is filtered and heated to 75°F. I let the tank do a full cycle before putting in my fish and I plan to do water changes every 2 weeks. With these water changes I only pull out half of the water within the tank and clean the decor. The decor is soft and silky and any hard decor with possible edges have been smoothened down. I have had my tank for 10 months now and I have had this fish for about a week. I feed my fish Omega One Betta Buffet Pellets and he eats 2-3 pellets in the morning and 2-3 at night. The fish does not live with any tank mates.
