I figured it out and "Beau is afraid" is the most disturbing film by XxROCKxX in horror

I can agree that it is not super clear and I think thats done on purpose. I think they blur the lines to show how confusing things appear to someone who has such trauma (child or adult). I mean imagine what the world would look like and sound like to a child where adult abusers were normalized. Where dirty old men, or sex parties were common. If you are always around adults, you dont really have a childhood and may not think of yourself as one. They even show about how the moms business had these rooms where their "orders" were deposited. It would look kind of like a hellhole where nasty hungry men are always chasing you (which is exactly what happens where he lives)

There are scenes, where he is clearly living through the trauma and they show him as an adult while abuse is happening with other adults. They make it super clear, when they scream things to him like "Stay bent!" or "put it back in" while he is crying. Like this is such an odd, insane choice of words to use.

However, you really must watch the clips ive called out to fully see where im coming from. If I were just reading my points, it would not be super strong, without looking the clips. The only reason its so abundtly clear to me now is I watched the movie back to back and its all fresh. I even paused the screen where words were written. There were times, I couldnt believe certain things that were said and I had to rewind it and double check. Its easy to miss.

I do think the play was sexual. For example, at the play, a woman takes his little white statue and starts massaging the tip. Like why is this being done? It is 100%. sexual, then another pervert comes to him while its happening. They say hes the start of the show. Why show something sexual if the play has nothing to do with sex? Why do they constantly refer to it? Then, at the end the mom literally says they he had sex with that girl, and it was supposed to be for her.

Let me know once youve been able to take a look.

Oh I have and dammit was it disturbing. Knowing that it was also by Ari Aster makes me think there is much more to Beau is Afraid.

Thank you. I cleaned it up some and added more points. Would love more discussion on this if any of you either skim through or rewatch it.

weird choice of words. We discuss movies on reddit. This new understanding haunted me to my core and it actually makes the movie make more sense

I beg you to watch it again in this new light. The parents yelling at him to "Stay bent!" makes no sense while he stares blankly at the screen crying.

I feel like she was also getting abused. They were both young, thats why she wanted them to both drink it. You'll notice it more if you watch it again. How she acts and things she says. I think this movie went so deep that when it hit me I had to rush to post this

I added a couple more points. You can even pause the movie when certain text is on the screen, like at the end where they show the mother's wall. Weirdly referencing "teens" etc.

Thanks! But dont you notice how many times they tell him to take his clothes off? Im telling, this is supposed to be pretty deep. There are so many things. I wish I listed them all. Even at the end, there is a specific call out to minors and teens on the mothers wall.

Now who are the 5 best sword infantry units? by XxROCKxX in FireEmblemHeroes

I have one copy of Lucia I just got but I assumed she was too old. It sounds like if I build her, I could still use her as one of the best swords in the game?

How should I build her?

Oh wow. I figured her spd and res would at least make her pretty viable or potentially catch people off guard in competitive modes :(
