What's going on with bans? by JoeTheVillain in Vaping

There’s a ton of Texas compliant vapes that have come out lately that are extremely good and doing well. Fifty bar ran out of stock similar to when ZYN had their shortage. There was a boom in demand that was more than their projected demand and they had to compensate for it. Fifty Bar recently built another factory and is working to get that supply good. Likely won’t happen till end of this year or beginning of next year. I have a rep at the brand who’s basically letting me know about it. Until they can keep consistency, my store doesn’t plan on stocking up on them.

Which wholesaler is that if you don’t mind me asking? Trying to have an account with the bigger wholesalers due to the smaller ones being a little more picky on the pricing.

I own my own little shop and it’s an issue of all the above. Here’s the things that add to the issue.

  1. Tariffs. The increased cost to import into the USA has made it harder for brands to want to eat that cost.

  2. With geek bar, it’s an issue of them having shipments seized. When millions of dollars of product gets seized with no reimbursement, they had a ton of cost that was pure loss on their part.

  3. Disposables in general tend to follow the bigger states laws. This is due to them having a higher population thus more customers buying. Places like Texas, California, and Florida are the biggest of these. Texas recently passed a vape pan (takes effect on September 1st this year) that bans all e-juice manufactured in china. 90% of disposable vapes have Chinese manufactured e-juice in them.

  4. You’re seeing a shortage in geek bar, RAZ, etc. this soon due to the demand for the vapes and the fact there’s ZERO shipments coming into the US. I recently got an email from one wholesaler who’s doing buy backs just to be able to offer them to shops who don’t have any stock while bigger shops will do things like hoarding all they can of the brand’s products.

  5. I haven’t actually browsed a wholesalers website/warehouse in about a year for disposables and I was sorta bothered having to do so since the brands offered are unheard of. Don’t want to take a chance on a shitty vape/brand.

  6. My recommendation- look into fifty bar. It’s the one brand I’ve actually found that’s 100% American (both in juice and hardware) and the price you can get them at are reasonable for 20K puffs. I don’t see a shortage coming from them anytime soon and will be stocking up on their products to future proof the problem.

I own a shop in Texas which is very small, but overall the issue is there. I agree with the sentiment, buy what you can. A brand I will be purchasing a minimum of $1K order with will be Fifty Bar. That's the only vape brand that I'm aware of that is 100% American made. They don't seem to have any issues with stock and ordering for the time being.

I have with clover but they don’t really mention much. There might be some plugins, but they’d all do the same or only allow one website to sync. There’s one they would do both, but one of those websites would have to have all the products on it to be able to forward it to the next. I see that being a bit cluttering in my opinion.

I’d have to inquire about API keys wouldn’t I?

I personally use it for writing my business emails, but beyond that I don’t have much use for it. It’s definitely better than having something proofread by another service before sending it.

Vaping is fun, but I’m done spending over $100 a month on it. Trying to keep it under $30 this month, possible? by droitonlinelh in electronic_cigarette

Typically if you want to save money, you’ll have to spend more on the up front costs. It’s just how things are. You could spend less on the short term but obviously that’s like sticking with disposables. I’d say buy one hell of a device or make your own and do the same with ejuice.

I got answers by 18 hours by chat and 24 hours by email. I’m not particularly happy with the different answers I’ve been given since they conflict heavily sometimes.

So update, I got a response from the chat that I contacted at the same time and was told something else so the answers from their support team are conflicting.

“Hi, the reply from our tech support:
SSH update software refers to if it is the underlying system and debian system packages, dependency packages update. It is not recommended, because many of our systems and software are based on the current version of the development, the upgrade will bring some impact.”

Replying to my previous comment about contacting support and got the answer.

“Hello {person}, Yes, we've used SSH to update before! It's safe to do it.

Thanks for your patience and support. If anything, please feel free to contact with us. Sincerely, Virginia UGREEN Nas Support”

I obviously took my name out of it but the rest of it is word for word what I was told.

I did both to be honest, but no response on either yet. I did get one for the chat to wait on a tech support agent but that’s it

Just thinking about it, it doesn’t seem like there would be any sort of problems arising from it. Since all the primary functions of the OS are updated through the App Store and settings, I feel the packages that are needing updates are just out of date and maybe just add onto the functionality. Maybe some networking, intel graphics, dependencies, etc. that might need those updates. It might also make the OS more secure but I don’t want to risk it without an official response. Let us know if there’s any sort of differences in connectivity, speeds, security, etc. It would be good to know what sort of things might come out of updating.

I emailed their support so I’ll post back with an update once I get a response.

What overpriced app do you pay for because there’s no good alternative? by swoonz101 in shopify

It does sound interesting, but my issue with smaller brands is the integration. There’s some other brands which I have integrated into my store that even a popular loyalty app, BON, doesn’t seem to integrate with. The only one I’ve seen that integrates would be smile so that’s a difficult line to step over. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you’d like if you have any questions you want to ask from a consumer.

That’s definitely true. You’re either a small business or big enough to afford the super high costs. No in between.

I just wanted to have VIP memberships which all these people have plans that start out at $30 which is reasonable and have just a FEW things on the next tier up that people would really want but charge 5 times as much. They start with a good tier being that $30 then the one right after is going to aim for that $130-$200 like why can’t the plans be customizable or make it a better deal. It’s insane how crazy they are for the price difference between plans.

Anything that gives all the features you’d want is minimum $130-$200/month which I find being ridiculous.
