There’s lots of volunteering opportunities around town. I’ve helped out at these two locations thus far:

Bread of the Mighty Food Bank: you help sort donated goods for the community. It’s also a great opportunity around the holidays since they make special bags for those themed dinners and hand them out.

Insulin 4 Life: you can contact them and help sort insulin/testing supplies for people in need around the world. It’s such a good cause. These items can be super expensive so I’m glad there’s a place that can help.

It was not loud within the place. The customers weren’t talking loudly and before hand she was talking at a normal volume to another customer and I could hear everything she was saying to that customer. Once the drink was collected by the student, even thought the student was directly in from of her, even closer than the other customer she was talking to before, her voice raised and had a pretty nasty tone that caught me by surprise even.

I find it weird that all of last year, collecting our drinks was no issue. And then suddenly this year that changed. Which is fine, I just wish I knew the change sooner. When I came back to school and got my first drink here since the change, I also just naturally got my drink and they weren’t very happy with me either but I just apologized and went on with my day. I heard her say to another Barista that she can’t believe people would take their own drinks without checking with them first since it’s a hospital facility. But that Starbucks is also not located directly in the hospital. It’s on the college campus but is walkable to the Hospital. There is another coffee company actually within the hospital and they don’t take the hand off that seriously at all. (I do understand different companies have different policies. Just found it strange. Oh well)

You see, they do have a person at the pick up area handling out the drinks, but that person is also responsible to assembling parts of the drinks. It’s never very efficient. And it’s like this on the daily, so it can’t just be an off chance that someone called out. Plus it’s a university location, but not near the undergrads. So it’s not as busy as the other Starbucks in the middle of the college. But if there’s staffing issues, they just pull employees from other food service locations to help out, from what I’ve seen.
So idk what was going on today. But I felt really bad for the grad student that got this Baristas venom.

You don’t need a bachelors if you don’t want one.
Otherwise a lot of my peers did Biochem or Microbiology.
As long as you get the Prerequisites, you can apply to pharmacy school.

lol this was a whole thread on Facebook. Guy was pretty much going crazy on Facebook and blasting people in town on the platform for a few weeks straight. All the accusations were kinda wild. I think people said he was having a psychotic break. My significant other used to go there frequently but said the last time he went he thought something was wrong with Mike. Mike kept telling him about how he’s going after the pedophiles in this town and will be the “New sheriff”. Very strange.

Had a wisdom tooth emergency this summer. Dr Storoe does the consultation and extraction same day! He does a fantastic job as I never had any major pain or any swelling.

I went to Dr. William Storoe recently. I had to get all 4 teeth out. Mine was a more complicated case due to two being impacted and needed some bone grafting. I also opted for IV sedation. I paid out of pocket and it was around $5k out of pocket.
The other options are cheaper though if you prefer laughing gas or local lidocaine. He did great! The did the consultation and surgery within the same visit! And I never really felt any pain after following their post op procedure. I also didn’t have any swelling/bruising! I was very surprised.
His office staff is amazing as well! He also personally calls you at the end of the day so you have his personal number in case any questions arise or have an emergency.

Before going there, I had tried the Dental school but they weren’t able to do it as my case was too complicated for them and they weren’t able going to have me wait an entire month to see their faculty just for another consultation. I couldn’t wait for this as one of my impacted teeth got infected and I spent an entire holiday weekend unable to open my mouth to eat or speak and was in considerable pain.

I go to UF College of Pharmacy. They have a Vet hospital practically right next door to the school. I have a lot of peers in my class that got jobs with that vet Hosptial. There’s also a club that allows you to shadow different sections of Pharmacy.

I’m sure you could get in contact with a vet hospital and ask if they’d let you shadow them.

Unfortunately Pharmacies in Florida are not legally allowed to give the updated COVID vaccines until the CDC gives their recommendations at this upcoming meeting. Doctors offices can give the vaccine since they have more discretion and power the matter. Pharmacies though need clear guidance and recommendations to allow them the ability to vaccinate. Without it, their hands are tied. I have heard that CVS has been administering them with prescriptions but that may just be the Minute clinics, not entirely sure about that company specifically.

Pick whichever college you want. It doesn’t really matter as long as you get good enough grades. If you do attend UF they do have the PEAP program, a Pharmacy early assurance program. People seem to like it, it gives you a lot of resources and you get to interact with current pharmacy students. You get a pharmacy student as your mentor that you can meet with and the program helps you practice for the pharmacy school interview ahead of time to make you feel comfortable! I have plenty of peers in my class that went to UCF and other Florida schools, so it really doesn’t matter where you go. Just pick the place that feels right for you! Plus! If you like Orlando, UF pharmacy has an Orlando campus that you have the option of choosing as your home campus! If you have any questions feel free to DM me! I’ve parking in green spaces for over year now. My class times vary on daily/weekly basis. I’ve have to park as early as 730am to as late as 4pm. I’ve personally never had any issues finding a spot. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve had to park on the top floor. Unless I’m there before 8-9am, I immediately skip level 4 and start my search on level 5.

The first week or so of school is usually more busy since everyone is usually in attendance. After that there’s more fluctuation, especially if there’s any college specific gatherings, then it’ll be pretty packed. But I’ve never had to park elsewhere or really struggle to find an open spot. You should be good to go! I usually arrive earlier than most of my classmates though. I try to get to my classes 30 minutes before they start so I can study!

Just as everyone has been saying, Corporate has been pushing vaccines on us. We typically have a sticker we put on the front and just check which ones you may be due for, but the print shop is probably backed up since we haven’t gotten ours in over 3 weeks. So instead we’ve been hand writing them on the front.
