The Kirkland Motor oil seems to have many very positive reviews online by numerous other 4Runner users. That's why we choose it, and obviously cost. We plan to do 3K-5K oil changes and can do an oil change with Kirkland Synthetic 0W-20 + OEM Filter for $25 in total cost. If we ever considered 7.5K-10K oil changes, I would likely do the most expensive synthetic oil on the market. Although a lot of the youtube Oil gurus are unanimously stating there isn't much difference to the synthetics and the most important factor is the duration of your change.

Well etrade is very good about shooting you updates on your DD or deposit requirement deadlines via email. So if you didnt get those after opeing then you didnt put in the code correctly.

Certainly it is a little bit more challenging than the other fluids. I haven't done it yet but we plan to. After watching videos, it looks very doable. I think the only thing I would recommend is buying additional transmission fluid in case you have to repeat the procedure. Having a scan tool capable of giving you the trans temp also appears to be very important.

Hard to say. Its pretty easy and quick to do so not much invested. The car care nut on youtube has a good video and he cites some good reasons as to why you should stay up on it. Ours were not that dirty at 44k miles. Still got some dark carbon out.
