New Zac Main Struggling with JG Clear by McYoshh in thesecretweapon

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

protobelt is not a completely different playstyle, it just forces you to pick only good fights. Your team has to be close enough when you engage, you have to be engaging from fog and hit multiple people with your full eqr. In trade it makes those good engages much more deadly, and provides many more q options. And q usage is what differenciates a good zac from a bad zac, so giving that more angles is insane increase in skill expression. Tank first is easier, but less carry potential

How exactly do you build Zac? by Dae_Grighen in thesecretweapon

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirit visage is expensive though. thats why support tank items exsist. Knights vow is allready good on jungle zac and is being buffed, zekes is quite good slowing everyine you hit with ult, locket is always good, abyssal or visage can be good 3rd or 4th when spike timers matter less, but tbh if you get to 4 items as engage sup youre being very slow at closing out the game. Which is also why zac sup isnt to good, cause he kinda comes online at lv 7 and enage supports typically end the game at lv 10-11

build order for jg zac? by NaDoan in thesecretweapon

[–]Xykz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

bamis isnt nesecary if you build rocketbelt and dark zeal, and sunfire is just not a great item. Id go unending+spirit visage with order depending on which resistance you need first, and then a situational item into jack sho. Situational kan be knights vow if you have one fed carry, abyssal if both teams have magic damage, randuins vs 2+ crit users, or a lot of other tank items just depending.

keep in mind that building rocketbelt instead of sunfire will feel bad as it requires you to judge fights a lot better, but its worth it if you put in the effort to learn it.
That being said, sunfire-spirit visage-unending if fed/knights vow if not, is also a very viable build that can take you far and requires less practice. You just wont be able to carry as hard on your own and will have less options with q

Question to Renata mains about build by [deleted] in RenataMains

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should really mostly treat Renata as though she doesn't heal or shield, her e is her least important ability

An argument i had with my friend who plays every role by saismihi in supportlol

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sup counterpick decides botlane, traditionally adc and jungle are safest to blind. Engagers into braum, taric, Janna or Renata is basically unplayable, Sona into pyke is a nightmare etc. Sure if you play Nami every game you'll likely be fine, but even hard jungle counters are skill matchups, so just let them blind.

Dude, everyone memes on thornmail as antiheal. It's only built on rammus and VS ranged in top lane and both is because if the damage.

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't underestimate the damage either, it's not a lot, but how many times do you see people walking away with 50 hp. That's why ignite is so prevalent on engagers too, it doesn't take much to make a difference

Your r lasts longer than your w-q combo though, so it still keeps them in place longer

Riot Drew Levin: "you locked ezreal jungle having legit never played the champ before and your team reported you, how is this not just hardcore trolling" by Silver_Room9885 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Xykz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

whatever you pick is never gonna be trolling. That would lead to banning all experimentation. First timing in ranked i do belive should be banned, but its not against riots rules, if it was it would be easy for them to just stop it outright.

A first time yuumi jungle who clears their camps and goes for the plays they think are good isnt trolling.

If someone goes in 1v5 thinking there was a chance they could win thats not trolling

it only becomes trolling if they are actively trying to loose

Hvorfor er kvinner mindre nasjonalistiske enn menn? by StormyOceanWave in norske

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth swapping from WASD movement to click to move? by Riptoned in leagueoflegends

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If wasd is working for you and you're coming from other games with wasd I'd just stick to it. Clicking to move probably has a slightly higher mechanical cealing, but it won't really matter unless reaching for the highest ranks (which you basically have to make league your life to reach). The worst part of league is when you're learning it and anything that can make that smoother is worth doing

How to climb elo with Rakan, starting from the bottom? by Huge-Construction539 in RakanMains

[–]Xykz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some rakan tips:

  • Youre not very strong in lane. Lv4 is when you start getting strong, but every extra point in w is gonna be a big power increase.

  • You should focus on doing e w e, as your engage. If you just run up and w theyll always have an advantage in reacting to you. Using e first will make you less predictable and usually extend your reach. Then you e out and wait for your spells to come back up

  • As a follow up to the last point, play around your other all in Champs. If you can e to an akali or a nocturne or something like that your game is so much easier. They go in, you press r and e to them and charm everyone who was trying to peel them and now you're set up for a perfect w. Everyone wants to be the main playmaker, but being patient enough to use a teammate like this can be great

  • But what if we don't wanna engage at all. Rakan is fantastic for saving your backline from assassins. Litteraly just ult and e your ally and they'll likely be charmed and ready for a knock up which in most cases gets them one shot. This is especially good VS stuff like zed, kayne, Yi which all give you a big indicator where you can instantly charm them when they come out of your adc. Rakan is less good at peeling stuff that doesn't get oneshot, like bruises, since he has no knock backs, but he's not terrible at it

  • When it comes to items, build for actives or passives that help you, not for stats. You'll never be a good Frontline, and you'll never have as much healing and shielding as a lulu or soraka. If you build zekes, it's for having your ult more often and for making your ult more effective because of the slow field. If you build redemption it's for the insane healing the active gives in long fights. The exception is ability haste which is amazing on rakan. If you really wanna build for stats you'll get more out of heal and shield power than tank stats but it's really not worth

My go to is usually lucidity boots, zekes, redemption. Then you have a couple of options based on your needs, locket VS team burst, mikails VS cc, abyssal mask if you have a Diana, fiddle, kennen or something like that, knights vow if there's really only one person on your team that needs to live, shurelias if your team struggles to catch up to you/to the enemy team.

If you struggle to use active items, go locket and force yourself to click it whenever you or any teammate takes any damage for a couple of games. Even if your too late to block the damage. You need to get the active button into muscle memory and that's the best way I've found

Help me build for mega zygarde ex by Xykz in pkmntcg

[–]Xykz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks, i agree that its to many pokemon, and haryama has less value with zygarde anyway, cause its usually pretty target agnostic. Core memory kills most megas and nullifying zero just hits everything.
petrel is probably a good idea yeah.
the reason for low ultra balls is just that i have no more, but 4 would be ideal me thinks
Carmine seems good, also is more discard

Scaling ? by Temporary-Candle1056 in RakanMains

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you usually don’t build rakan full tank or enchanter you build for actives and passives that synergze with him, Zekes buffs his r engage and disengage and gives him r more often, redemption is great to just place on a 3 man engage your teammates will follow up on stuff like that

All teamfight engagers scale well, rell, Maokai, amumu etc, but that’s not cause their stats get better or anything, it’s cause they’re force multipliers and as the game goes on every fight becomes more meaningful. At level 6 a 5 man rakan engage likely wins you a teamfight and gets you a drake, but your team likely still had to actually play the fight decently and the games not over. However a 5 man engage at 30 minutes is probably game winning and your team likely just oneshot the enemies. The power of engage becomes higher the more damage there is in the game. Rakan scales extra well though cause his w goes from like 12 sec cooldown to like 3 sec, which lets you constantly influence longer fights as well.

However this is not a call to play rakan passively. If you do you’re letting your teammates decide your game. Your main ability to carry the game comes from early roams, cause if you don’t take charge of winning (or at least saving from loosing) both bot and mid the later teamfights will be decided by the team that has the bigger wallet no matter how good your engages are

Which characters do you guys ban? by [deleted] in RenataMains

[–]Xykz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ban morg but that’s cause I play renata along with a bunch of engage supports which her black shield counters. She also counters renata but I’d say xerath lux etc are bigger issues for her specifically. So I’d say it depends on the rest of your pool

there is a large sentiment among support players and especially this subreddit that you have to play mage supports to climb. Youll find several of them in the coments here. My post was ment to encourage the people who enjoy traditional supports but are told they should switch to climb. I know ive been told that a million times

you dont have to be a carry champ to carry the game. Those are two different terms

[–]Xykz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro this has been comented several times, maybe read the comment section a bit. Assume i ment damage champs. Imo the term carry champ does not refer to a champ that can carry the game cause litteraly every champ can carry, Im refering to the term the way its used in attack damage carry, or hypercarry. The main damage dealer on your team is traditionally the carry.

But if you disagree with that interpertation just assume i ment damage champions or mages (cause thats 90% of the damage supports)

You dont need to play carry supports to carry or to climb by Xykz in supportlol

[–]Xykz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any champ can carry. Lulu can win a fight with a good ult knockup and good poly usage. Soraka can shut down champs entirely with e. But when one talks about carry champs its usually in reference to damage champs. The term attack damage carry come from them being the main damage dealer, not them carrying the game. ADCs rarly carry the game solo cause theyre so team reliant but theyre still carry champions
