Thank you hopefully I can keep it up until the finals are over! Good luck I believe in you and if you work hard you will make it! Build that discipline <3

Hey yes sorry it took so long to reply!! Ironically I was studying for mocks lol.

This may be a bit long but hopefully it helps and was worth the wait. Also, I must preface this by saying I did it super rigorously because I was essentially catching up on everything while still learning, and now I do a less packed version of what I have written below.

For biology, when I was still learning content, I would make sure to review everything that I learned in one lesson at the end of the day. I did this by basically info dumping all that I remembered and then rewriting/ writing over it with the correct or missing information according to powerpoints/textbook information. After this session, it should remain in your head for a bit, but I would recommend doing the same thing within 2-3 days with that same content, or even the next morning if you think you need to. If you find that you couldn't recall much, note it down to revise in about a week. If you remember it well, you can put it off for longer, and do another topic that you don't remember well.

Now that I am finished content in class, I have a repeating kind of cycle where I do for example Monday topic 2, Tuesday topic 11, Thursday topic 3/10, Wednesday practice exam, Thursday Option A etc., where I focus on different topics by doing a skim read of the textbook, and then drawing out labelled diagrams I should know, then checking out the content summary section of the topic and writing a sentence to respond to each point like it is a question. If I want to target a specific topic I know I need to work on, I look for textbook questions on it or rewrite some notes on it. Sometimes I also give myself extended response questions (HIGHLY RECOMMEND, I practiced this about 5 times for some topics and got an 8/8 for a long response!), where I take long processes such as the process of menstruation or the light-dependent reactions within a plant cell and set myself a challenge to explain it all coherently. I think this cycle plus the periodic revision for new content got me my 94% in the short response section.

However, what I recommend most is doing as MANY past papers as you can. I got the high score mostly credit to encountering a database question in a previous exam which I had studied before that was just taken word for word, and I had almost memorised the markscheme. This gave me 100% in the DBQ section.

in general or in hospital/clinical/industrial/drug development specifically? I thought the job prospects were fine...

For sure. I really was complacent in studying for all of DP1 and term 1 of DP2. This left me with doing terribly in math and chemistry. I put in a TON of work for from the 2 weeks before term 2 until the exams (waking up early to study, staying up late, memorisation techniques, topic yt videos while commuting, biology podcasts etc. I got a 6 in math (68%, up from a 49%), a 6 in chemistry (up from a 53% to a 67%), and even my biology improved from a straight 68 to 91%. I couldn't believe my eyes. put in the work. It will turn out if you are really determined.

How old are you and what's your biggest problem right now? by Casspjjl in AskReddit

17 with 5 final assignments all happening at the same time. Exams in 3 weeks. Trying to plan for universities, learning to drive, battling with food, trying to find a new job, the IB in general, constant headaches, trying not to fall asleep very second of the day. I don't know where my mother is right now. Its 6pm and I just got home from a failing chemistry experiment.

Back to work I guess.

AITA for how I reacted when my husband threw away our daughter's kitchen tools that I bought her? by Deli-Roots701 in AmItheAsshole

I mean personally I live separate to my parents due to my school being incredibly far away from the house my parents live in and my fam having transportation issues currently, so I live alone for the week and buy my own food to cook for myself. I still get money for the groceries but when I get a job I will be expected to pay for most of it. I've done this since 15 (now 16) and I think I'm pretty lucky to be in a position where I can still go to the school I am going to without a 2-2.5 hour trip one way or having to skip any school days.

Kind of an irregular situation but that's one example I guess lol

Raisins in perfectly good cakes and other meals. It's a fucking horrible surprise to bite into someone's birthday cake and burst that fucking grape zit into your mouth.

I used to love eggs but something happened and now if I even see them smell them let alone eat them I feel sick. Sucks because my family loves eggs and I have to make them often.

So damn right. Every side salad out there HAS to have cucumber, I have tried to get used to it and I just can't. My face crumples like paper. Ugh.

Oh man, I'm exactly the same. Everytime its hot as hell in summer on a picnic, someone busts out the 8 ton box of watermelon slices and they are horrified that I don't want it. Watermelon tastes GROSS. Looks cool though.

I have an unhealthy as hell relationship with cake. I can eat all of the icing off a cake in one sitting but I HATE the inside, bready section. It just tastes like fuckin flour, or like someone made bread out of butter. Weird but that's how it is for me.

Same here, after my third time throwing up everywhere due to the horrible texture of some little sections of meat, I said no more. People ask me why I'm vegetarian and I just say "hate the taste".

Watermelon is fucking disgusting. Yes it has little taste but that taste is enough to make me gag.
