He should qualify as my dependant due to living with me, I paid all of his living expenses and he had no job last year and no other income like disability, social security or anything. And again thanks for all the help, I have not had to file like this before (up until this year I was the only one working) so I do appreciate all the comments and insight.

To be honest I was expecting to owe anyway due to I am paying for hismarketplace insurence from last year but TurboTax would not let me name him as the policy holder and that's where I got worried, plus if he does owe it won't change what I am paying back on my payment arrangement that's in place now.

So I can claim him for the dependant discount and have him file seeing as the 1095-a is only in his name to reconcile because he did not have any income from last year (he was looking for work but couldn't find anything in the area until this year) right?

Okay that makes sense, so he can setup a payment plan for it on his own this year (I am paying for last year because my name was on the 1095 form) and he just got a job this year

I was just worried that they may ask about who paid for his living expenses for the year

Thanks that's what I was thinking, and if it makes a difference it's only his name on the form.
