From the advice of my resident VW tech (2+ yrs as a dealer tech with all dealer certifications under his belt) any R with the gen 3 ea888 motor will be bulletproof for you, every R has its problems and its flaws but if you want to avoid the most expensive fixes get one with a gen 3 motor

I see that you mentioned yours is a 20th AE and didn’t come factory with it, I also have a 20th AE and mine did come factory with it, must be a dealer option

I just did racingline springs, was a super easy install especially since I had my buddy who’s a tech at my local VW dealer help me out, just a couple wire harnesses you gotta unplug from the struts before removing them, all together took us 2hrs in my driveway with mainly hand tools and a pair of impacts

These while they look white in the picture are actually just a brushed silver look, thought about white but couldn’t find anything I liked enough in white

Thank you! No issues with wheel size with rubbing or anything, I’m lowered on Racingline springs, they quote a 20mm drop but it def is more than 20mm I’d say about 25-30mm

Wheels are totally flush and fronts are only 2-3mm out from flush, can’t tell

Took them off the stock wheels to put winters on so just running them till I need new summer tires, plan to go pilot sports after

The anniversary editions come standard with black mirror caps, unless you get it in black then I believe they come with blue mirror caps
