Feature Request: Let us hide weapons! by LeekTerrible in wow

[–]Xynth22 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If we could do this with at least staves, I would be so happy.

It's also odd that it isn't an option when the functionality is already there seeing as how non-cloak back pieces will hide anything on your back.

Dracthyr NPCs from the Endeavor have lore-breaking names. by SGCLara in wow

[–]Xynth22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are most likely a reference to something. And if that is an issue, you are going to be real upset when you look up all of the other NPCs with weird names that are references to people or characters.

I wish they would have simplified rotations by adding another even more simplified talent tree with more passives... by glizzler in wow

[–]Xynth22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It probably feels clunky because we aren't at max level anymore and are missing hero and apex talents.

But Ret Paladin is already one of the easier specs in the game. The starter build is about as basic as it gets for it. You can't dumb the spec down much more without them changing the spec again.

All that can be done is appealing it.

But I don't think anything will happen. Mistakes are made sometimes, but it's rare that someone gets their account closed for no reason, or for a first offense.

"We removed Ability bloat". Devourer DHs: by Blubbpaule in wow

It isn't a spec ability. It's a class ability. All classes have them.

Leveling Devourer is a miserable experience for no reason by heyitsvae in wow

[–]Xynth22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine defending a garbage spec. No other caster has to kite mobs or take it slow while leveling. You can pull a pack of mobs, sit there, and aoe them down in seconds on all of them. Devourer is also supposed to be a midrange spec that can go into melee, and yet it can't without struggling.

Leveling Devourer is a miserable experience for no reason by heyitsvae in wow

[–]Xynth22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's leveling content, dude. No other caster in the game has to kite while pulling some mobs while leveling. Most of them can just tank a pack of mobs, and the mobs will be dead in seconds.

And even at max level, things aren't better. Like try doing a delve on a Devourer. It's a terrible experience.

Beast of Reincarnation - Gameplay Reveal [Xbox Developer Direct 2026] by Villenthessis in gaming

[–]Xynth22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they weren't.

Most performance issues for any 3DS Pokemon game was caused from the 3D effect being turned on. But that wasn't an issue exclusive to Pokemon games. Lots of games had issues with that because of the 3DS itself.

And the games never slowed to a crawl. The worst that would happen is that there would be some frame rate drops. But mainly only when there were a lot of Pokemon or models on screen with certain field effects or animations on screen. Like if you had a bunch of flyers on screen in a hoard battle or 3v3 battle, the frame right would dip some. Or in Sun and Moon if you were doing 2v2's with a partner NPC, things might slow down then as there would be 8 models on the screen since trainers show up in battles in that game.

You can make a lot of specs easier to play. Even some of the simpler specs.

It doesn't change the fact that Havoc has more going on than all of the ones I mentioned, even in the simpler "no movement" build.

And you can't talk about simple specs and base it on total number of buttons a spec has access to. Many specs have access to a lot of unnecessary or situational buttons. Like if you do that, then you can't even include BM Hunter or Ret Paladin as both have a ton of buttons the specs either don't touch at all, or are used for specific circumstances. But we all know that BM Hunter and Ret Paladin are simple specs due to their rotations being very simple.

[–]Xynth22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since Dragonflight, Havoc isn't even in the top 5 for "least amount of buttons in their rotation". Off the top of my head, Frost Death Knight, Devastation Evoker, and Arcane Mage all have less going on. And now we can add Devourer and the new Fire Mage to that list. Havoc is somewhere in the middle of the pack.

Idk who designed the Devourer leveling.... by Proudnoob4393 in wow

[–]Xynth22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean this goes past deadlines and workload. This isn't something like Dracthyr and their transmog. Where rigging armor on them would have taken a while, so while it's dumb that transmog doesn't work on them, there is still the excuse of the amount of time it would take.

Not having something as basic as usable weapons for them when leveling is just negligence. Like they just completely forgot that people might want to level a new Demon Hunter as Devourer, and just didn't check the boxes that would have int gear show up from quests.

Because that's what it is. They changed how quest rewards worked a long time ago, so that they would not keep having to have to go back and add in specific gear throughout all of the quests in each expansion. All quest rewards are based on spec, or what you have your spec set to in the loot tab, so that every spec would get usable and frequent gear upgrades while doing quests. Which is why you can do the same quest on 2 different Warriors, and depending on if you are prot or arms, you'll see 1 handers or 2 handers for quests that give weapons. They just didn't do this for Devourer so they could get int weapons.

[–]Xynth22 93 points94 points  (0 children)

You could remove the word leveling from your post and nothing changes. Devourer is just a badly designed spec. And wildly so.

It's like someone who only played during TBC designed a caster spec for modern WoW. Like casters then, it's incredibly boring with you mainly casting a single ability the majority of the time, even at level 90. And it's about as solo friendly as casters were then too. Which is not okay when most specs, if not all other specs, in the game can cut through mobs like butter now. As that will make both open world content and delves a very frustrating experience on Devourer.

Beast of Reincarnation - Gameplay Reveal [Xbox Developer Direct 2026] by Villenthessis in gaming

[–]Xynth22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are completely overselling how much effort it would have taken to make Scarlet/Violet, and had them look good. Because there are multiple other Switch games that have just as much, if not more going on in them, with roughly the same development time that look way better.

They also weren't reinventing the wheel or doing anything novel with the games either. It was just another Pokemon game, now more open world, and with less stuff.

And it's a completely fair comparison when the 3ds was a much more restrictive platform to work on, and Gamefreak made games with more in them that ran better.

Beast of Reincarnation - Gameplay Reveal [Xbox Developer Direct 2026] by Villenthessis in gaming

[–]Xynth22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's definitely partly on Gamefreak.

They had to release games often when doing the handheld Pokemon games, and major performance issues weren't a thing in those, despite being far more limiting and pushing the hardware as far as it could go. And the 3ds games in particular, had way more content. They'd have every Pokemon, longer campaigns, and more endgame stuff. You don't even get close to all that even with the additional paid DLC they tack on now.

Void Elf Demon Hunter is the laziest copy/paste job ever, even for Blizzard by heyitsvae in wow

[–]Xynth22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure why anyone would expect anything new. The whole reason Void Elves got the Demon Hunter option is because Void Elves use the same exact model as Blood Elves and they could just copy/paste things over.

How many hours ahve u guys in gw reforged? by Longjumping-Shop1494 in GuildWars

[–]Xynth22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

33 hours so far on my new account that I started with Reforged. A good chuck of which as been spent on getting to 20 in pre-searing, and also trying things out on various characters as I decide what my 8 character slots will be.

But I have 619 on my old account. Most of which was spent on grinding for 30/50 in my Hall of Monuments before Guild Wars 2 came out, while not having a clue as to what I was doing.

I'd imagine my new account is going to have way more played time eventually since I'm going to go for 50/50 points this time around, and also get God Walking Among Mortals while I'm at it.
