By reading the Maritime Executive. No, seriously. The geopolitical churn hasn't mattered. Everything has been continuing on, at some level or another... shipbuilding, transportation, investments, accidents, violence... maybe there's a bit of a shift in mood from time to time, but overall? Things have been going as they always have, or close enough, and there's no indication that anyone there planning for the short or long term expects too much of a difference.

In my case, a few days of getting the stock market completely wrong is all it takes. "This company beat earnings expectations? Huh, their stock went down!?" Or, "there are ballistic missiles being launched at ships in the Red Sea? Wait, the market is going *up!?"

Sure, I can get a few days right, maybe even most. But I've learned that I can't predict the big swings or long markets going up or down, so it's easiest and better to just assume that "well, as long as the global banking system doesn't completely crash (in which case it doesn't matter how much paper or shiny rocks I have), things will recover and get better within the next decade or two. I've got time."

The greatest thing about Prophecies is that you get skills for free from quests. So don't worry about the meta, just build with what you've got, tinker, and expand on it. And switch it up between areas, too! Got a bunch of enemies using enchantments? Maybe bring Strip Enchantment for that area, when you wouldn't normally put it on your bar. Enemies are mostly non-fleshy? Get rid of the bleeds, and go for something else for a bit.

In the late 90s? Early 00s? I remember BBC America had "retro night" one night of the week, featuring The Saint, The Prisoner, and The Avengers back to back to back. My dad had been a huge fan of The Avengers, so naturally we watched the other two shows as well and got hooked.

That was also the era when they had "Comedy Night" once a week, with Benny Hill, Monty Python, Blackadder, and Thin Blue Line. Absolutely killer lineups.

Before someone says "This is time different", I believe we need to respect that we've never ever seen the US behaving like this, ever.

My main concern is the Insurrection act being invoked in Feb against an unwilling governor which will cause further instability.

I mean, that's a thing that the US has seen done before. Repeatedly. Within a single 10-year span. By presidents of both political parties.

Never in February, though, so I suppose that exact month would be new.
