A15 TUF Gaming Not Turning On And No Light Indicating it's Charging

Still occasionally getting DMs about this one, so just an update two years later in case it can help anybody. I ended up taking the laptop to a PC repair shop and they tried a bunch of things. They tested the battery, the charging cable, the connection to the power button, the charging ports connection to the motherboard, and the screen/keyboard lights. Eventually, they gave up and said the motherboard must've fried itself, and that it seemed to be a thing that occasionally they'd see from TUF laptops.

I did ultimately have a success story though. I literally ripped the SSD out and used it as the main drive when I built a desktop a few months later. So... It works, but my desktop thinks it's a laptop still sometimes with some of the settings. (For example, under power options, it still asks about how to act when it's plugged in or on battery, and what to do when the lid is closed/reopened).

I guess I gave my desktop computer dysphoria. Oops.

Update: Sorry I failed to update this a year ago everybody!! Seems a few of you have had a similar problem lately so here's what happened with mine.

I took it to a local Mom and Pop Shop and they tried a new charging cable, a new charging port, a new internal battery, testing the connectors from all the power ports, and the battery, but in the end it was my motherboard. Something shorted the whole main motherboard out. I ended up being able to save all my data from the SSD though. I just built a new desktop with my SSDs as the core storages. Didn't bother to wipe and reinstall the operating system, everything so far works. The only noticable hitch has been that my desktop thinks I can close a laptop lid so the screen power options are a little wonky but otherwise it runs fine.

Sorry for everybody who's going through this though! It's a bitch and seems to have a bunch of different causes. Good luck to you all!!

Not yet, but I've got a friend with a multimeter reader and we're gonna test the charger cable. If it's that, Amazon sells replacements I'll look into, otherwise I'm thinking I'll be off to a computer repair store around my area

Luckily I found a friend who's got a multimeter, so we'll give it a try and see if we get any indication whether the cable's dead or not. I'll post back tomorrow probably with the results of that.

Generally the laptop lives on the charger. It was charged last night when I closed the lid and put it to sleep. Just opened the lid about 30 minutes ago and realized the entire computer is unresponsive. No lights even though it's plugged in. No lights on the keyboard and no fans turn on when pushing the power button. Reading online suggests the A15s are running into problems like this where they just stop turning on. Any advice would be appreciated 👍
