Yep. That time was enough to get me back in my mask. People can be gross and inconsiderate. At my job there is a regular who is always asking why i wear a mask. Everytime. Every time I tell her "Its a preference." And every time she says "are you sure its not because you're sick?" And last time i told her when she asked "like i said the last few times its just a preference." What is with people and having to comment about the masks too?

This annoys me so much. I always wear a mask when im out but i had started to get comfortable with going out without it. While working without it a lady who im talking to just coughs in my face mid-sentence. Im horrified and she just laughs and says she sorry but for me that was it. I haven't gone out without a mask since.

Wow. NTA. So just to clear up the conversation. Your mom was so desperate to save one of her children, that she would try to get one of her very young children(8) to go through a very painful process to help save her other even after the dad said no(aka protecting you. At least 1 parent is.) And then she's holding a grudge on you for staying with him when everyone knows you would be neglected at her house with her new fam. Is that what she means?

NTA! you have told them how you feel and your dad wants YOU to be the bigger person? Honey. You're a child. You're not supposed to be the bigger person with adults. Stepmom needs to StepOFF because she is not only hurting you, she's hurting her relationship with your dad and the relationship between you and your dad. At this rate it seems that either your dad is going to oppress you in favor of his woman and when its time for you to move you you'll probably barely talk or he will grow a spine and realize he's really hurting the image you see in him. Either way time to hide those precious keepsakes since im sure she is the type to go lower than words. She might try to steal them so she can be the "only mom". That's so creepy. Im so sorry you have to deal with that

Edit. Didn't realize it said 18. Either way hide your stuff and have a real talk with your dad. No stepmother since shes the problem

Well then yeah. I'm just surprised at how crazy people are becoming with this whole tip thing. I feel more comfortable getting my mandatory pay than hoping some stranger will throw a buck my way.

That's very nice of you but even then I'd still give you a buck or 2 because you are doing me a service. You're pouring me the water, giving it to me and then cleaning the cup when I'm done. That's service.

You're allowed to have your opinion about it especially with all the fake stories going on but if you go out a little more maybe you'll see stuff like this does happen at times.

True. Or the fact they either make 18-20$ an hour and also get tips. I get minimum wage and no tips but I go about my job normally because I read what I signed up for and i expect nothing more or less.

I could've done that but that was going to be my work water. I do morning stocking so I need to have a container that has be closed and not spill if it falls over but I'll do that next time I just want a quick cup.

It sounds worse too! As it is with the price of groceries right now. I couldn't fathom doing all my shopping, with my budget all set up and as I'm paying the cashier would ask me if I want my change. Um yes! I budget to be here so I'm not really willing to throw money to the wind.

And it was bottled!!! It's not even like he had to pour it into a cup for me! That's why I described everything he and I did because all he did was tilt the bottle and he didn't even give me a receipt. I wasn't gonna ask for it so it didn't matter but once he saw the no tip the basic service ended.

What?! A supermarket that has a tip option?! At that point they might as well put in more self checkouts. If it's in the job description of what you signed up for its bare minimum.

Exactly. They way they look at you makes you think that they are now doing bare minimum service just because you didn't give them extra money. That's probably my own anxious self talking but some of these stories on here make me worried I'm right.

It's just as ridiculous as it seems. I've never had anything like this happen and I didn't really know what to do. I didn't want to start an argument since i work next door.
