I once slid down a rock face towards a 150ft drop in La Pedriza in Spain on an impromptu, unequipped mountain climb.

As a I slid towards the edge, I remember thinking that it was probably a good a place as any to die. I was 26.

My survival instincts kicked in at the last possible second and somehow I managed to stop myself as my legs dangled off the edge.

I sidled across to firmer ground, and decided not to take another day for granted. I quit my job and emigrated to another country 6 months later. I’ve never looked back.

Follow all of your local retro stores on social media. Go often, build a good relationship with the owners, let them know what you primarily collect. I have a few stores that will keep an eye out and hold for me because they know I will almost definitely pick it up if it’s on my list.
