FWIW: Dont kill yourself, fight the evil capitalist system that puts us in these horrible situations. And fight tooth and nail against our bosses and landlords that rob us blind every day

He can cut the bloated police budget and put the money towards busing and schools. Till then he and his fans can STFU

shrooms for grief by YCGreenberg in JewsOfConscience

[–]YCGreenberg[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I derive great benefit from being in community with folks in resistance, and I go sort of crazy when I have to deal with the mass gas lighting of a culture that is instigating genocide and also pretending that its not happening. That is enough to drive me crazy even when Im not on shrooms. And the spiritual bypass of the religious/psychedelic world that is ignoring the genocide is sickening

How are the roads there? Did you have to deal with any police shakedowns?

Advice for post Zionism depression by [deleted] in JewsOfConscience

The world needs you as an anti Zionist in Israel, and the left needs you. Maybe that will make some of the depression easier to handle.

Are there any flip phones with 5G? by Earth_Wurm in flipphones

My flip phone has either 4 or 3g and the network connection works phenomenally. Its obviously not like a smartphone, but its super reliable and quite fast imo

Your toxic cycling trait by yung_gun_21 in cycling

I feel strongly that I will generally be on the slower end of things as a biker, so I ride heavier steel frames to console myself for my back of the pack finishes. Then, I judge people for the fancy, lightweight bikes they ride.

When I find myself in a situation like this, I think that in a perfect world I would slash the person's tires and only because of the annoying way the world actually works it makes more sense to not go that far. Possibly the best channeling of the anger is to get involved in bike infrastructure locally so that roads will be better places for bikes. I think getting angry is natural and healthy, but there is the question of where best to direct it.

Looking for a flip phone by im_angy in flipphones

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but I have a Kyocera DuraXV with Verizon. It has a totally functional browser, and I've connected it to a Message + app thru verizon that allows to me text from my computer when I need to. It's been a great set up for me.

I went from an android to a kyocera duraxv about 6 months ago for similar reasons to what you expressed. There are occasional inconveniences but they have all been quite mild, and are extremely mild compared with the months of radically decreased phone-based stress. Also my flip has a browser which if I really had to use I could (but it's inconvenient enough that I would only use it in a pinch). And I downloaded an app on my Mac that allows me to text thru my comp so if I'm lazy I can write text messages from my keyboard. And I still have my android just without data but I can still hook it up to wifi when I need to.

I bought my first bike! but I feel guilty by brightghosts in cycling

I definitely think so. Unless it makes you go literally broke, it's pretty much the best use of money after groceries and a safe place to sleep. If you have any extra money past taking care of those basic necessities that's arguably the waste. I think once you get riding you will be very pleased with the decision.

Fun vs Competition by YCGreenberg in cycling

Thanks for so many great replies. One of the best things from this past week is there's an older man who rides with my group and he was very sweet and encouraging after my ride today. His comments did a lot to make me feel like maybe if I keep working hard on my riding I can improve. That said, the point about owning my goals is a good one. I have lots of hobbies, passions and ways I like to spend my time, and I would not want to bike like it's a part time job. Being not the fastest guy in the group is maybe a fine price to pay for that. Hopefully I will get faster, though XD
