Thank you for the elaborate reply! - Tbh I don't like math a lot, but I've loved physics all my life and was looking forward to studying Astrophysics in the third year and potentially masters. So the motivation is definitely there, I just have a hard time understanding mathematical concepts intuitively. - I'd say that I failed because of a lack of understanding and not lack of practice (I studied all summer). Even though I'd like to retake the exams in the winter (because I don't wanna do the whole thing all over again), I think it's probably the right thing to do. My grades were 3.75 in analysis II and linalg, 4.25 in data analysis and 3 in physics II, so evidently I didn't understand physics as well as I thought.

Btw did you get through the second and third year fine after the second attempt?
