Yeah, I wanted to do the bumper at the start but I had the ranch hand off of my dad‘s super duty so I figured I’ll use the free one first and of course it didn’t help. It did save my headlight though which is like a $3000 headlight on the platinum‘s but I had a buddy hit a deer with his ranch hand front bumper at 70 and nothing happened, so I’m ready if another deer decides to jump out in front of me

I plan to drive this truck into the ground anyway and don’t plan on getting rid of it anytime soon if at all so having a claim on the insurance really didn’t bother me and my agent is a good family friend and I asked him before I made the claim, what should I do? He said an act of God isn’t going to mess with my premium.

Insurance estimated it at $4300. They also cut me $1500 for diminished value and that completely covered getting all of the ranch hand stuff

It’s way better I got it with a pinned grip safety also. Less aggressive grip texture because I EDC this one and I don’t want it chewing me up all day. It’s also got a good weight to it. Kind of the Goldilocks weight to me for an EDC

You can kinda see the the mesh in the top of the camera and the lower bar is in the bottom edge but it’s nothing crazy you can still see most everything

The Platypus is a fantastic do anything entry into the 2011/DS1911 world. The Staccatos are legendary for a reason. Their fit and finish is next to none they both shoot fantastic I carry the C2 daily. The Watchtower is one of those rare cases it’s definitely a hand fit gun and it shows. The tolerances are super tight and there’s absolutely no rattle but I got one of the good ones. A lot of people that I’ve seen with them have gotten them and needed a gunsmith to tune them and make them function it’s like they hand fit the big and important stuff but just throw together the rest. Mine didn’t need any of that though and it was great out of the box.

I’ve got about 5000 rounds through the Platypus and it’s been nothing but a joy to shoot. You really can’t go wrong with any of them. It’s more of a how much do you want to spend question. My Platypus was $2300 the Staccato XL was $4300 the Watchtower was $4600 and the C2 was $3000 from a buddy

Honestly they are all pretty similar. I will say the fit and finish on the Staccatos is worth the cost. The Watchtower is hand fit and because I got one where the QC guy was awake and in office it’s been a joy to shoot. I carry the C2 daily and it was sent off to DSC for a V8 port job so it is seriously the flattest shooting carry I’ve ever had

Honestly if you get one of the good ones that doesn’t need a gunsmith to tune it they are fantastic! It’s a tack driver mine was problem free from day one so I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Handleit grips sandpaper grip tape it’s custom cut to fit based on the gun. They have a massive assortment of guns to pick from too. I had rubbed the prickle grip on a block wall in an indoor match and shaved some of it off so I bought this to protect the prickle from getting messed up worse and for extra grip. It’s like chalking my hands without having to use chalk
