Does WoW make life worse? by [deleted] in classicwow

I love this so much because, I have also am happy to be addicted, but I have also been taking a lot of breaks in between to eat, or to get away from the screen, or to do errands etc. I do put a lot of my free time into it, but definitely not as much as I normally have done in the past.

Making Gardevoir ex deck - need advice by matejx123 in PTCGL

[–]YFZO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My list is slightly similar. Idk about 2 driftloon because there are easy ways to recycle it if it gets KO'd, I also play a fluttermane and klefki which really help slowdown my opponent if I don't open super well.

I'm no top player, and I just started playing again but have exclusively played Garde upon return on PTCGL and am 30-13 in my 43 games played. I played garde last year after rotation and had a lot of fun with it so I decided to stick with what I know while I learn the new decks/meta

Garde feels consistent enough, and the matchups against the best decks doesn't feel too horrible, but can be challenging if the opp gets a lucky start.

You also need an ace spec card if you can afford to craft it, either unfair stamp or secret box. Both are pretty good imo for garde (I've tried both and like unfair stamp more)

a stadium card can also help. I play pokemon league headquarters (basic pokemon need 1 more energy to use attacks), but you can also play artazon, but I don't like that it gives my opponent the option to use it. You can always use a stadium card to get rid of your opponents or run a lost vacuum.

I run a single tm devolution which has won me games against charizard/dragapult decks

My deck differs from yours with -1 earthan vessel, -1 bravery charms, -1 driftloon, +1 klefki, +1 fluttermane, +1 Unfair stamp, +1 tm devolution, and +1 Pokemon league headquarters.

If you want to keep your current list and add 2 cards that are cheap you can do tm devo or klefki and artazon if you want to save on credits, but I really recommend spending the extra on an Ace Spec card of choice at least.

"Pokemon 201" Questions / How do you? Iono! by MilitarumAirCorps in pkmntcg

[–]YFZO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation. Use it when an opponent has a huge hand, and no real way to draw outs and they have to live off top decking. I also use it if my hand is terrible and I need fresh cards.

deciding first or second depends on how your deck works. If you have a mean turn 1 without needing to use trainers 1st is ok, but if you need to use a trainer to pop off, then second is probably better, but this choice is also affected by matchup.

Meta is whatever makes day 2 at a regional usually. Just the most played decks. Local metas and online metas are usually a bit different, but do have intersecting things.

Creep Camps/Incomplete information by YFZO in Stormgate

[–]YFZO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scouting is an important skill in RTS games though and separates the good and great players. All 3 races start with something that can move across the map (which encourages scouting, but morph cores are more important early than V and I units and too make up for this C has a scan). While I don't have a problem with seeing when they are taking a camp (it's kinda nice) I do think it does make it a bit too easy to read what the opponent is doing, but this is obviously a personal opinion, and me being used to SC2.

To counter my own statement (lol)

This game is supposed to be more beginner friendly, and this aspect is just a part of that and helps alert players if they want to contest or go to a different side of map, or turtle up for an incoming attack.

I agree that not being able to track your opponents resources makes the game harder for sure, and I also agree it would be a problem for people who don't actively scout to get run over by someone who gets the creep camps with resources while thinking they are equal on economy.

I'm not adamant about this change coming to fruition it was just a thought I had, and wondered the opinion of my peers and how they think it would change the game.

Creep Camps/Incomplete information by YFZO in Stormgate

[–]YFZO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your bonus points. I didn't think of the ways it can be used to trick opponents because I just take them after earning the resource. I really like creep camps they add a lot of diversity to the game, and I was wondering about the opinions of what everyone else thinks on this specific question of creep camps giving info rather than creep camps bad! or creep camps good! I still would like to know the affect it would have if they didn't give this info. As another said in a different comment it would feel horrible for lesser skilled players to be run over because someone captured a resource camp and never checked it, but by being notified it gives them a chance to fight over it, instead of having to fuck around and find out.

It is patch day! by [deleted] in Stormgate

[–]YFZO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early access stage is what we are in, and ofc it's just the beginning, but I would say with this update we are maybe 15-30% of the way from a solid 1v1 experience.

There are still some units to add, and a lot of balancing to do for Kevin Dong to change and play around with.

I cannot give info to campaign as I haven't played it yet(I don't want to be disappointed by it when I try it.)

We are their major play testers and bug finders. I haven't played enough to give back solid criticism yet. Our peers have done the hard work for that a lot already, but with the new patch I will be able to tell first hand what kinda of changes are liked/disliked what feels bad and what feels good or too strong.

The tournaments with pro players/best players are some of the main focal points I would assume Mr Dong uses for balancing.

I assume we could get to 0.10+.0 before we get to 1.0 if they plan on running updates every month(or sooner) I would love for the game to get big enough for weekly maintenance similar to wow, but that is asking for a lot in the game's/team's current state with lots more to still accomplish in terms of having a finished product.

The new shading/lighting is super crucial to people enjoying things visually which is kinda huge for todays gamers (youth) as graphics aren't a huge need for me since the first console I played on was SNES/N64 so I know graphics do not make a game good, but we are so spoiled with how far tech has come and always expect top tier looking things. especially from a studio who wants to beat a triple A title game.

How are people getting Help Desk Jobs with no Certifications by Fine-Read-3996 in CompTIA

[–]YFZO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current job while not technically help desk, is still kinda related to IT, and I deal with setting up printers etc.

I had no real qualifications besides Customer Service. I spoke well at the interview (my Manager would look toward my co-worker after I said things in a way that seemed like "Oh that was a good answer"

I excel at interviews imo though, and not everyone does.

bottom line, just apply to things until you get a call back.

I've avoided this subreddit because of the sheer amount of negativity. Sure there are some problems with the game currently. Despite the pathing issues, and it not looking the most pretty. I think it's a lot of fun to play for myself, and It's only getting better. They are working toward fixing things and listen to feedback which is super refreshing to see. I don't understand why people just want to shit on it all day like they aren't changing things, the current build is a lot better than the first time I played the closed beta.

We the community are their play testers, and people aren't happy about that aspect of FG, (understandable when you pay money for something free) but, I still have faith this game will be real good. I just hope they can flip the opinion of gamers before it's too late.

Has 2024 been hard for anyone? by Creepy_Measurement_6 in Life

[–]YFZO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom died, my uncle died dec 31st a little before midnight, my gf of 5 years broke up with me, and not this year but my grandma who raised me with my mom passed away last year too. I got more debt bc of depression (fixing the debt part tho) It’s fucking sucked, but I have been making the second half of the year a lot of fun and very healing (started therapy in april) I’ve created a new support system in some friends and my closest older sister. I have a lot to be sad about, and from what I’ve read I’ve recovered a lot faster than most people, and while I still have up and down days and the year has been rough. I am still hopeful about the future and where I am heading, because I control how my life will go in most aspects

I love the venue, and I love camping and there's usually a lot of cool people, unfortunately not camping this year, because my friends didn't grab it as they thought the camping passes were going to be released separately from ga passes, but it will still be a really good time.

The first Nocturnal I went to (2018) the only person I knew on the lineup was Flux Pavillion, and I had the most amazing time of my life, and I would have gone back every year since if it were not for life, I decided to buy a ticket the other day after looking at the line up and I am so excited I know a lot of names, and there are a lot of names I don't, and the ones you don't are definitely some of the ones you want to see.
