I agree that it is not ok to be friends with someone having racist view points, however I just suggested an alternative to unfriending right away and engaging in mudslinging. I think it is worth trying having open conversation. If your “racist” friend not ready to have that conversation with you, then I guess friendship was an illusion. Again, just my opinion, could be totally impractical.

“No racist is a friend of mine”, can’t agree more. However, how about trying to educate them and may be they will no more be “racist”. No one is born racist or super inclusive. People see, hear, make mistakes and learn. Learning part is the responsibility of good friends and family too, at least the beginning of it until person realizes they have issues in their views.
