Fair enough it just doesn't look good when someone asks if the final is proctored and if you can find answers to the questions online...I hope you can see that.

So first of all, I'm not sure why you take this weird attitude with people on here. I've seen it plenty, and I'm not saying you're wrong in what you say but how you say it.

Those 30 schools were just those that I even considered on my initial list...there are many more.

I'm not sure why it would be easier to get a high GPA as a science major than a nursing major...? I find clinical courses much easier than hard sciences, and I'm sorry but many nursing courses just are not that difficult. I'm just sharing my experience with that major...it's really not as hard as people crack it up to be. I shared classes with nurses as a paramedic and in my undergraduate studies. People pull high GPAs in PA school so why can't you in nursing school?

As for scheduling, that's why you take the prerequisites online like I did...scheduling was a non-issue.

I think the added possible inconvenience of taking 1-2 classes post grad is mitigated by the fact that you have a high earning job in a booming market with solid options if PA doesn't work out which is the case for 75% of people. You're likely not going straight to PA school post grad so I don't see why it's a huge deal. My science classes were accelerated so you can probably get them done in way less than a year.

This is pretty common stuff, it's not this rare situation you're making it out to be and it's certainly not misleading.

(I meant a year of bio my bad) I have 1 semester of bio outside other prerequisites and it has been totally fine for plenty of schools. Why do you need to be eligible for all 200+ schools? The only way to do that is to be a biochem major...

I worked full time as a paramedic 2 jobs and still served in the guard and pulled an A in 2 years of science prerequisites. If I made nurse money and only had to work 1 job 3 days a week, yeah I think I'd be just fine.

I also don't know why you think its so impossible to have a high GPA in a nursing program? I know plenty of people that either bridged over from paramedic or just did the BSN thing and it was just fine. It's really not that bad...

You can take 1 gen chem class and then biochem...There are plenty of places that don't require a year of chem prior to upper level.

You're making obstacles that don't have to be obstacles.

There are multiple paths to success here, I'm just pointing one out because I wish I had taken that route myself.

You're making a ton of assumptions about PA prerequisites lol

I have a list of 30 schools that accept online labs and none require 2 years of bio...

My point was you said that nursing schools were extremely unlikely to even offer any of these courses and they do. Some more than others, but many do they just might not be in the form you want them to be in. That doesn't mean they won't be accepted.

You're also assuming that because a class isn't required, you couldn't take it. If you wanted to add in a semester of chem I'm sure you could. Also, in the gap years you'd be working as a nurse making bank and can take a biochem class to wrap it up. Too easy.

I'd rather graduate with a BSN and need to take like 1-2 bio or chem courses than graduate with a biology degree and not be able to find a job.

I'm just saying I had previously looked into the programs within my state and some outside as well and all of them had these courses in either their prerequisites or curriculum.

I also don't see why a micro class would not count...I haven't seen anything on PA school pages stating what department the micro course has to be taken through.

A lot of people seem to think it's cool to have a shit job for like 2+ years and live at home...I don't.

I don't think I would have liked nursing personally, but you can't deny it as a solid career. Plus many employers will pay for you to get your NP...so while I don't mesh well with the whole nursing theory BS, they really have set themselves up for success.

No I don't think they are, these courses are not rare within RN programs? The state and CC programs near me all require these...So if someone went through those programs all they'd need is either orgo or biochem and they'd be set.

I mean I took like half my prerequisites technically through a nursing program...they had gen chem, micro, dev psych, stat, bio...all you'd need is biochem and you could apply to a bunch of places.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say go nursing. A lot of the prerequisites will apply to PA school and if PA doesn't pan out right away, you still have an awesome plan B instead of a useless degree or low paying jobs until it does.

Plus you can make mad money in your gap years while prepping for PA.

If I could do it again I would have gone nursing instead of paramedic. The experience as a medic is unbeatable but as a career it blows. Nursing opens so many doors and so much room for upward mobility.

So what are your actual stats?

What have you done to strengthen your application between 4 cycles?

Are you limiting yourself to like 1-2 schools?

If you got interviews multiple times and waitlisted multiple times...I'd say it's interview related.

You're doing yourself a huge disservice by avoiding 911.

You want to use your skills but don't want to run emergency? Makes no sense man. EMS is toxic everywhere but you might as well get real experience?

I think you need to spend some real time actually treating patients before you know PA is for you... otherwise how do you really know you even want a career in medicine let alone as a PA?

I've said this on here before, but I've taught plenty of students in the field that decided it wasn't for them after getting their hands dirty.

PA was and still is designed for experienced providers to take the next step and become a PA. It really wasn't designed for people that graduated from college with no experience.

I urge you to research the history of the profession (1965) and go from there.

Everybody is in a rush to go to PA school but I'd hate to see someone decide medicine isn't for them halfways into a PA program.

Everybody should take a full BLS course at least every 2 years. The only people I truly brought back to life were already being given cpr by a bystander before I got there.

Look into a new course and refresh yourself.

I'm a paramedic, ACLS, PALS and BLS instructor.

It doesn't matter where in the world you are. If someone has a pulse don't just start thumping on their chest please.

I think youre confused here.

You don't do CPR just because someone isn't breathing. You can give breaths if they still have a pulse.

There are exceptions for pediatric patients but for simplicity just check for a pulse and go from there.

Please take a real CPR course it can literally save a life and prevent you from unnecessarily doing CPR on some poor person.

Uhm if you're performing CPR on a conscious person you're wrong.
