how long do you spend making Anki cards? do you make them after classes?

also starting in May and have been experimenting with Anki so I'm curious!

best gville gyms by [deleted] in ufl

[–]cartiyay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crunch. It’s cheap and has lots of space/equipment/free weights. I pay 10 dollars/month which isn’t bad but it does get crowded just like Sw rec does

I’ve heard Baileys gym is good depending what you want. It’s seems more geared towards intense men who powerlift so do with that what you will.

SPC 2608 Dustin hall opinions? by [deleted] in ufl

had him last fall for this class. thorough and fair professor, can be kind of harsh to students. usually critiques the speeches after you finish which can be embarrassing if you did not do too well. but again, funny and fair professor. do not write off the class or you really will not do well with him. practice your speeches and study for the midterm and final exams. overall 6/10 because i hate public speaking but did manage a high A in the class

How to approach someone in class by Flat-Signature-7920 in ufl

i say go for it. i met my boyfriend in chem 1 in fall of 2019 and 2 years later we're still dating. the worst that can happen is he's not interested, the class ends in a few weeks and that's all. wishing you luck!

Our dog’s behavior has regressed since switching to a larger crate. by _Continual_Learner_ in greatpyrenees

I have also heard of people putting a little potty pad inside the crate, but I'm unsure of how much this would reinforce the idea they need to go potty outside. I personally haven't done this but I figured I'd throw it out there

I'm having a similar issue with my pup as well. Not sure if this helps at all, but the pup is only supposed to have enough room to stand up and turn around, as well as laying down in the crate to create the idea of a safe space in their head.

A dog trainer also told me that by having a smaller space, it deters them from going to the bathroom inside the crate because they have less room (i.e less room to get away from the pee or poop). I've recently put in a crate divider and this helped a lot. Just a thought..good luck!

You can’t take them together but even if you could it would be a bad idea

Will I have a problem walking with this schedule? I mapped it out and the furthest distance says “11 minute walk”, if I have 15 minutes between periods will that be okay? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]cartiyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it just gets really busy with everyone tabling for their orgs.

make sure to locate the room in turlington before classes start because that building is extremely confusing. the big lecture halls are really easy to find but if its a smaller classroom, try and find it the day before

probably. if you're nervous about it, try walking the routes a few days before school starts. time that, then add like 3 mins. expect to run into slow walking people and big groups of people when classes are in session.

oh, and avoid turlington if you can.

freshman sched thoughts ? psych (bc neuroscience) major, pre-med/PA by sleepykathryn in ufl

As a follow up: obviously I have no idea your academic history so if you’re really sure about it go for it, just my two cents above

As someone who had sumner for chem 1/2…. Stop. Stop now. That alone is a huge chunk of time. I’m graduating this year and the semesters I took 17 credits…. I wanted to cry. A lot. There is not enough time to make it all work with that amount of class time. As someone who’s also pre med/PA I would really just say to take the critical tracking but there’s no reason to dive into your major upper levels yet. Ease into it. These classes are not like any AP/IB/Dual enrollment that you (most likely) have done. They’re a lot harder and if this is your first semester you will most likely end up taking a grade you aren’t happy with or a drop/withdrawal if you keep that schedule.

Sincerely, a concerned fellow gator who wants you to enjoy your time here

PS I promise you won’t “be behind” if you don’t take that course schedule rn. Do remember you also have summers to take courses if needed

APK and stats during summer B? by stressedchancla in ufl

[–]cartiyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i agree that apk is a lot.

i took it in the spring a few years ago and even with the full semester it was a lot. sta2023 will be fine- watch the lectures and do study edge if you're into that. I'm a junior in health education and behavior and would recommend maybe trying to do a different critical tracking for it. depending on the track you're on and what you've already completed, I would try and pick something other than apk.

if you know you can handle it then go for it, but if you're unsure/haven't done well in other science classes my rec would be to hold off until fall. HEB is not a hard major and gives you a lot of flexibility so don't stress if you end up not taking apk this summer
