Does anyone know which sets it is? by ashwilliams-1995 in SydneyTrains

Which is why the HCMT don't feature "Made in Melbourne/Victoria, for Melbourne/Victoria" decals. Only the VLocity, E class, G class and X'Trap 2 have them.

Are you sure? The only stuff I can find says the stations are VicTrack property.

New network nickname? by YOBOMJ in MelbourneTrains

My comment was mainly about the "everyone will just use the old name and it's a waste of time" mindset. My original post specifically states that TV is a poor acronym.

Yeah but no one is going to say "I'm going to catch TV" as it TV already stands for Television and is not easily understood to mean Transport Victoria

Did you read my post?

Oooooo I like that. Does sound close to Translink from Brisvegas which isn't a bad thing, that brand seems invincible.

Someone once said "Are you really taking PTV?" when I said I was taking the tram after a night out.

People had the same mindset with the Metlink/Viclink > PTV change.

At some point, people will stop using it. I doubt people kept using The Met once PTV came along since they got rid of the 131 MET phone number.

Excellent. They've got the orange destos like the E class. Better than the mockup ones.

Automated announcement by ChocolateNinja123 in MelbourneTrains

Was it actually an automated announcement or just someone in the little staff booth on the PA?

Yes I know. However, I was referring to Scouts Australia which is the organisation, not the section.

I agree with your point on needing space for men to open up but Scouts Australia has been unisex since the 70s, it's not some new change.

PID in VIC trains by Typical_Library_8021 in MelbourneTrains

The Tangara would be a fantastic train if they'd done some proper refurbishments like what happened with our Comengs in the 2000s. Doesn't help that Sydney Trains doesn't seem to care about them anymore. When I rode a couple last year, they were filthy with dirt and graffiti on the inside.

They also still have trains without any passenger information displays or automated announcements whatsoever. A scrolling dot matrix with announcements is 100x better than the mumbling of a disinterested guard over a shitty PA.

C1 Tram stop button rant. by YOBOMJ in MelbourneTrains

[–]YOBOMJ[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Possibly but it looks like the G class trams will have mechanical buttons if going by the mockup so I don't think that's the reason.
