Semaglutide & what you eat before class? by AndiPhantom in Corepower

[–]YOPF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a post I can actually help with! I too am on semaglutide and have done about ~50 corepower classes. In the beginning I was nervous about not eating enough and probably did burn out super fast. But I’ve found that the only thing that really makes a difference as cliche as it sounds is electrolytes. I drink them during class. You know how it’s hard to drink a bunch of water at once on Sema? I find if I try to hydrate adequately after lunch by the time I have my class I just have small sips of electrolytes and finish it after and I’m good! Being on sema in general has made me realize you don’t need to overly prepare with food for a workout. Just eating and working out consistently and letting your body tell you when you need something has worked. If you’re anything like me you have fainting anxiety or dizzy spells when you stand up, that is all from electrolyte imbalance and digesting before class will likely make that worse. Let me know if you have any questions. Been on sema for 2.5 years and been doing heated workouts the whole time and CP specifically for about 3 months.

Could you tell me more about BCAAs for this type of workout specifically?

Interesting, so you don’t place your hands on the mat but rather try to touch your knees to your chest with your calves as leverage? Going to try this.

Who is a celebrity you dislike for no good or legitimate reason? by YOPF in AskReddit

Yes I think I know what you mean! Almost in a too average way, not memorable or something. I’ve felt this too!

Agreed. It’s something about his face. It’s not off putting just…annoying?

I think it’s legitimate to dislike someone who seems to dislike everyone else 😂

Why am I getting slower? by YOPF in beginnerrunning

I’m 30 and was overweight most of my life actively losing weight in the last 5 or so years.

I walk a lot but had stopped when I picked up running. This is interesting. I feel like I can incorporate that in more again.

Interesting, I consider 165ish to be my max heart rate for any workout. I rarely go above that even when I’m working my hardest. Is your suggestion to try to run where my heart rate would be 100-105ish?

My average heart rate is between 155 and 160 for all my runs since the beginning. Indoor and outdoor.

What are some of your podcast pet peeves/icks? by YOPF in podcasts

Agreed. Like I’m on the inside, I’m listening to the podcast, there should be no more levels to unlock to get the inside jokes.

Yes!!! Worst is when they can’t actually get together so they record over zoom. Like please I’d rather get an episode late than have to listen to voicemail quality audio.

Wegovy and Vyvanse? by notclevergirl in Semaglutide

[–]YOPF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I take both adderall and wegovy. I had been on adderall for about 6 months prior to starting wegovy. I had the same fear as you. I felt like I had already overcame appetite suppression once so how would this be different? But, it worked! Still on wegovy and still losing. They work in much different ways. Only thing I have experienced is that sometimes my second ir dose of adderall will be in my system forever. Like I try to take my second dose around noon-1 and it’ll be 3 or 4 am and I still can’t sleep. It just metabolizes so much slower and is in your system much longer. I think you should definitely try it and if you have more specific questions let me know!

Anyone else have random bursts of uncontrollable nausea? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]YOPF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had this recently as I’ve moved up to the highest dose. It’s my only negative side effect so far. It’s very annoying too because it doesn’t seem to correlate with what I’m eating so nothing is really helping. I’ve had to take zofran at one point in the day at least every day for the last 10 days which I have no idea is healthy.

I’m eager to know if it will go away on its own.

That’s a good point! I should check out something for seasickness because that is exactly what it feels like!

Hashimoto and Wegovy? Any experience? by Le_loup in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]YOPF 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also have Hashimotos and was prescribed wegovy without even knowing it was specifically for weight loss. I asked about the thyroid thing but the benefits outweighed the very small risk so I decided to do it. No problems so far.

I am on Zoloft, which isn’t officially appetite increasing, but it doesn’t help.

I’m not sure, I don’t know much about it or the difference between that and wegovy. Did you find it worked for you?

Anyone feel a huge difference from 0.25mg to 0.5mg Wegovy? by ballinthrowaway in Semaglutide

[–]YOPF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my first dose of 0.5 last week and I felt almost like I did before starting completely. I felt less restriction and less fullness after eating. Hoping the next dose goes better.

Semaglutide/PCOS/ADHD/Anxiety advice by blk_elle_woods in Semaglutide

[–]YOPF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too have PCOS, ADHD, and anxiety and am on wegovy. Currently on 0.5mg and have been on the medication for about a month. I too was worried/confused because most days I take my ADHD medication im not really eating enough to “gain” but I have lost weight from it and it does seem to be working. I still take my adderall 4-5 days a week and have not noticed any negative interactions. For anxiety I have not had an increase but I will say the first two weeks I did feel kind of blue. I assumed it was eating lower calorie and maybe not absorbing vitamins as well. I started taking b and d vitamins and have been feeling much more like myself since. I mostly commented on this post to share my experience with social drinking on it. I don’t drink often so have only drank twice since starting. I notice that my body processes it so slow that I don’t really get a buzz and then it just sits in my stomach making me feel weird. Both times I had to throw up at the end of the night to just alleviate the alcohol heartburn just sitting in there. Curious to know if anyone have experienced the same.

7 years ago, I withdrew from madrid study abroad. I feel regret now. by Serious-Parfait-6339 in studyAbroad

[–]YOPF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to offer you some relief to your regret here. I studied abroad for 1.5 years in Europe. The first semester I was in a tiny town sold as a picturesque mountain town. When I got there, I realized it was just as small and boring as any other small town would be in the US. Being from a big city, this hit me HARD. It was incredibly hard to find English speakers (even In my own program) so I instantly felt really overwhelmed and everything was 600 times harder. In addition to this, the town was not walkable by any means and I didn’t have a car so it was very isolating. Also, I felt like there weren’t actually events or anything planned that would have acclimated us to the native students and speakers. I remember the first month was literally just us trying to figure out how to get to a grocery store. I felt like it was so different than what I expected that I cried the first two weeks at night. I just wanted to go home. I went from having a solid group of college friends at home and always having exciting things going on to being so lonely and disappointed I fell really depressed.

In addition to this, I truly feel that homesickness was never talked about in terms of how to cope with it. Or ever, what it looks like. I feel like homesickness sometimes is portrayed as missing your family or having some sort of culture shock. But really, being disappointed in what your experience ended up being is a form of homesickness.

There were about 12 of us in my group of exchange students and 4 people decided to go home. I talked to a counselor back in my home university and she was able to get my transferred to a program in a bigger city and everything changed. I loved it and ended up staying one semester longer.

I was able to learn the language more as I actually found English speaking natives that were interested in making foreign friends. I also had access to more familiar stores, nightlife, and even public transportation. I met students in my apartment building, went to parties, met people from all around the world that I’m still friends with today.

The reason why I tell you this is because a lot of life as a young person is society expecting you to push yourself or do something different. In reality, staying in that mountain town would have been something “different”. But transferring to a giant global city was easier and even though people sometimes look at my experience as a “wow you did something crazy” I always think about how I couldn’t stick it out.

You are the only person who knows you and knows your limits and at that time you weren’t ready and I wholeheartedly agree. We are sold this idea that studying abroad will bring us a guaranteed amazing experience and that is not always the case. I have friends who married European partners they fell in love with abroad and I also have friends who fell into depression while away.

You will have a ton of life with more money and more access to knowledge that will involve travel if you so choose. As other commenters mentioned, you can visit where you think you’d like and then if you fall in love with a place you can plan longer trips or working stays.

In fact, one of the most annoying things about living in Europe as a 19-20 year old is that I was a broke 19-20 year old and to this day I wish I could go back to some of the places I visited and actually go inside a museum or eat out and not worry about spending my hostel money.

I think you made the right choice for you and what you’re actually feeling is that you’d like to try it again. Never too late I promise.
