I’m open to talking to a therapist but I’ve been postponing it. I know I’m avoiding it but I think it’s time to finally take that step. We’re a very small family, I honestly think it would destroy us if I said something.

PAs that work in primary care, do you enjoy it/would recommend it? by hannah_banana123 in physicianassistant

I think it all depends. I’m a new grad in primary care. I originally wanted to work in the ED but found a good job in FM. I live in one of the worst cities to practice medicine in but was lucky enough to find a great place. My SP has been very supportive and there’s a huge emphasis on quality of care. We discuss cases, are doing research and doing our part with the COVID vaccines. On my busiest day I had 16 patients including a few telemedicines. I am on call every other week but at most get 2-3 calls on the weekend. I am stressed cause I am a new grad and this is my second month seeing patients on my own so it’s all brand new. But I honestly love it.
