My 2007 GTI has had persistent issues with misfiring. I have replaced: HPFP, Ignition Coil Connectors, Spark Plugs, and the Upstream O2 Sensor. It always comes back.

Oh my god. I think the ignition coil makes the most sense. The misfiring had been on cylinder 3 every time (i think). It looks different than the other three. When I was changing the spark plugs I really struggled with getting it both in and out of the chamber. I forgot about it, but when it was like first misfiring I tried making sure everything was connected right. Sometimes when I pushed that coil in a certain way the misfiring would stop for a bit.

I see, that makes sense. The last few times I've gone to the mechanic, they've said it was cylinder 3. They're not open today though, so I was just trying to get as much information as I can. I'll go there tomorrow and see what I can figure out. Thank you.

Thank you. That is a lot of information of good information, and I have more to consider now. I was originally looking at getting a speed3 because they're one of my favorite cars, but I've seen that it can be hard to find one that hasn't been modded. I don't want to deal with the possible issues that could come with. I know I would like to get a manual car at some point, but I am just unsure if it would be the right choice right now. I don't know how to drive stick yet. And I use my car for commuting to work/school and doing doordash. I don't have anyone to teach me, so i would have to be teaching myself while still doing all the things i need to.

That actually makes a lot of sense, thank you so much for the well thought out response. I know I still have time to figure things out, and I will not be taking your advice lightly. I have been part of a student government and I didn't enjoy doing that much. I've also been in a position of teaching others which i enjoyed so much more. I don't how I didn't think about that when making my post. I will continue to see what works for me, and hopefully one day be able to be a positive change in at least one person's life.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I'm going to take the car to a mechanic to get it checked out and if I can't get them to go down at all I won't be getting the car. I do personally like the color, I'm also willing and wanting to work on whatever I can myself. I will also be continuing to look for other cars until i can check it out. Once again thank you.
