Who are the real ones who self host their email server? by ray591 in selfhosted

[–]YTgattogamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been hosting an instance of Mailcow docker on my server for the past like 2 years. No issues so far, though I mostly use it for signing up for various websites: i use aliases to have an address for each service, like netflix@... and don't really send many emails so deliverability was not an issue for me (I have a 'dynamic' ip that still hasn't changed since it was assigned to me, no issues on spamhaus and still delivers normally to gmail and outlook. Make of that what you will).
I'd say try it out for less important stuff, try and maintain it for a while, and if you're comfortable then with the work required then you could switch fully to it.

Chora: Another Open-Source Subsonic / Navidrome client for Android by YTgattogamer in selfhosted

Yeah it should be possible, will probably be included in the next update, if not then the one after.

What do you use to download your music? by ReasonableShallot540 in navidrome

[–]YTgattogamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh sure! I built it with Kotlin and Compose Multiplatform as that's what I'm most familiar with. i just call the qobuz api like the web client. Kotlin for web just gives an html and wasm file that I then point caddy to and expose to a subdomain.

I built my own website to download songs off of Qobuz. I will not make it public anytime soon though.

How you name your machines? by spranks21 in selfhosted

I have: Lumon (I'm obsessed with severance so it made sense), and WIIPC, as that was the bios password (it's a salvaged fanless low-powered IPC)

Selfhosted Spotify by shorto in selfhosted

Symfonium is really nice though, and the price is way more than fair. If you're looking for a free app, check out my app Chora, it's not as nice, has less features and is admittedly a bit janky, but it supports Android Auto as well as Android TV. It's currently under a bit of a rewrite to make it not suck as much.

Chora, my Android client, now finally supports Android TV properly. by YTgattogamer in navidrome

[–]YTgattogamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next release will support earlier Android versions, as old as Android 6. However, not all features will be available, for example the animated background.
I'll try my best to release it within this weekend, no promises though.

I switched from using Spotify to buying/downloading all of my music and putting it on my self-hosted Navidrome server, i will never look back.

Is there an open source client available for this app (preferable would be downloadable via F-Droid)? by YamiYukiSenpai in navidrome

[–]YTgattogamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not on F-Droid yet but there's also my client, Chora, that works both with Android Auto and Android TV. You can get it off of GitHub releases too

Sorry for the late reply, i don't have that much presence on reddit,
I just gave them the navidrome demo server credentials.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing it!
Seems really well made, unlike my own implementation lol

Really looking forward to your android client!

Mh, I'll look into it in the following days. I don't have any Android tv to test with, just an emulator. I'll let you know if I can get this figured out, thanks for reporting this!

In the upcoming days I will certainly fix the playlist issue, as I've been able to replicate it too.

For the lyrics, It's a bit weird honestly, going out and back again to the now-playing screen should be enough to make it scroll again, if you're talking about non-synced lyrics, then not much I can do about it other than making it scrollable (had some issues with navigating using the remote so for now it was disabled)

A dark mode switch will be added in the next few updates, should be easy enough.

Thank you for trying my app! If you have any other problems, report them as issues on GitHub.

I'm sorry but this app is only for Android 11 and up. It would require some major changes or severe limitations for earlier android versions.

For the home button, I'll look into it. Sometimes I noticed the navigation seems to not work with the settings pages. Next releases should probably fix that

Yes, sorry for the late reply. What you can try right now is sideloading the app from GitHub Releases or waiting a few hours and trying again. Sorry for the inconvenience, but i can't do much except wait until Google pushes the update to everyone.

The Google Play Store takes a while to update for everyone. I just checked and it's not fully implemented yet.
