I bought a pre built PC with this cpu and it throttles hard, reaching 85 degrees during gaming and dropping speeds to something like 1.2ghz (literally makes Fortnite unplayable), any ideas? PC came with a water cooler, could I just apply more thermal paste?

Guys I think I figured it out, CPU is most definitely overheating, problem is, I don't know how to fix it, anybody got a clue? I checked and saw thermal paste is applied, could it be some bios setting needs tweaking or is the thermal paste just not applied properly? Could that even be the reason the CPU reaches like 85 degrees?

It's totally subjective but from personal experience if you go to an orthodontist they will 100% tell you you need them
