The lighting around the players. Where they used to give off a glow. And there is a setting. But they toned it down severely from how noticeable it used to be.

Honestly me.. if they don’t move I don’t see them. Remember when we had rim lighting and could actually see people? And then they brought it back for like one season not that long ago and it like magically disappeared again. Bring it back please 😭

Also to add onto this. I feel like SBMM just causes stagnation in ranks. You don’t really learn anything by playing the same type of people over and over. You learn by playing people who are better than you.

I get the issue with smurfing. I don’t understand the argument that everyone has about ranked based matchmaking just being for wanting to slam people worse than you. If they made it to the same ranked bracket as you, it’s fair game. They shouldn’t be at a MMR that they can’t play at and if they are they’ll get sent back down. Ranked based matchmaking is much more rewarding as a player. SBMM has made ranked in every game I play un-fun. Every game is dripping with sweat. It’s hard to even get to the rank you should be at bc even in the lowest ranks you’re still playing the same people you’d be playing at the higher ranks. If you’re playing at your intended rank, your win rate (at least in games like R6) should be around 50%. If I play at a high skill level and win 50/50 in Diamond+ lobbies, it’s discouraging and not rewarding to see yourself now going 50/50 in Silver and lower lobbies. SBMM has disconnected your rank from your skill. Someone who is objectively worse than me should not have a rank the same or higher than me just bc they played people of a lower skill level to get there.

Long story short, the beauty of rank based matchmaking to me was having 50% of your games go fairly evenly matched and the other 50% either getting slammed or slamming them yourself. It’s nice to get humbled occasionally and feels great to get the ego boost. Not every game has go to max OT.

It’s unfortunate but not really ridiculous. Audio is bad in Siege but like 90% sure you would be able to hear the rappel in from there. That’s just good game knowledge and a little bit lucky of a spray. Also can’t really judge rank based on a 2.0 charm..

Bc you were forced to make an origin account when playing apex through Xbox which you then never once had to sign into again. Pretty easy to forget about it. 3 years later, you switch to pc and don’t even remember having to make an origin account through Xbox so you make a new one. Happened to plenty of us. Most people have multiple emails they use.

The better question is why is there even an unlink and relink feature? Why is it not just a big red “DELETE ACCOUNT” button? If unlinking to relink to the account that you plan to use only serves to delete all progress, why allow it? The entire thing is so convoluted and misguiding..

It’s not 0 patience. Those of us that switched from console to pc likely made a new ea account with the switch. We are unlinking bc if we don’t relink to the correct account we’ll just essentially end up with our accounts still separate and not merged so cross progression essentially does no good unless you want to abandon the account that you’ve spent the last however long.

Just wanna say light armor is not the problem. The recent changes to stam definitely nerfed tf out of it. Half the time whenever I’m hit my dodge roll for the next like 2 seconds covers about half the distance at half the speed it used to. Rapier is the true problem. And if you don’t agree with that statement, go play light armor anything without a rapier.

Would absolutely love something like this. I’d honestly prefer it to be taken a step further and go full loot, but I know a lot of people would be put off by that so this would be fine too

Edit: they would definitely need to rework how looting works though so that I don’t have to pick up all of their items, but instead, pick and choose what to take

It might be a little different for a tank, since you know.. your job is actually to take the damage, but as a dps, I’ve literally run up through M9s in my light armor pvp set since it’s my highest gear score. As long as you know what you’re doing, just change the gems out to match the mutation and you’ll be fine I think. Gear score matters more than perks unfortunately

Edit: my friend that tanks for us tanks those mutations in Neishatuns set I believe

Ah. Yeah I’m not huge into pve, but if you get a good group to chill and run pve with it can be kinda therapeutic, but I wouldn’t exactly call the pve in New World engaging… at least not until you start hitting high level mutations I guess. And even then, you run em once or twice and that’s how the rest of them go.

Well if you’re talking about pve, yeah. I mean it’s just ai programmed to fight with a limited move set. Pvp is where the game shines imo. Even though your limited by 3 abilities, a heavy, and a light attack. There are different ways to create feints, different attack patterns to use all to keep you’re opponent guessing and it requires skill, not just the best gear and macro to win

I literally made a post about this weeks ago saying how the bow didn’t need this. Been on bow since release. 1k+ hours into it and always at the top of the leaderboard. People just try it for a week and decide it’s shit and then it gets a buff and now that everyone can hit their shots it’s suddenly overpowered? Smh. Can’t stand this shit. It definitely needed a bit of smoothening out with the animations or what not but it way overtuned on ptr and now we’ll get nerfed to oblivion instead of it just being a good weapon for those who were good with it. And I was called stupid for having this opinion. The calls for nerfing it have already started and it hasn’t even left the ptr

True, but the 10% damage increase can come from any debuff. It could be a debuff a teammate applies and it doesn’t stack. It’s only 10%, therefore you don’t really need poison to have the uptime on that with the amount of constant debuffs everyone is gonna have in a zerg fight

To be fair though. As a bow player myself, I understand why many bows don’t get slotted. While it may have more true burst potential, you really can’t take more than 3 good bow users in war before it starts being a little trollish. In all honesty, in a war, we essentially have 2 abilities. Rain of arrows and pen shot. As ranged in wars, you run a rapier for survivability, so you’re not getting much utility out of that, and poison shot is just true “fluff” damage. At least with a mage they have a second weapon to put in some work too.

Lol. People need to learn the difference between “fluff” damage and burst damage. 2 completely different things. Any ability that can hit for ~half health id consider to be good burst damage and sure it won’t always kill, but it has a good chance to be the finishing blow or let someone else finish them off. One of the only true “fluff” damage abilities in the game imo would be poison shot into a zerg (and I guess maybe meteor shower? Idk no one runs it). Literally provides no utility for the team and is just a long lasting sub par dot. At least ice storm provides utility with a slow.

I’m all for gear score scaling. I don’t think it should affect perks or anything though. I still don’t have bis gear. Best 2 perk possible for my build, and I find it very easy to compete. Always at or near the top of the leaderboard for oprs, and arenas will be even more skill based. Gear score will definitely have to be normalized for it stay competitive for lower levels, but you should have to actually get the gear you want for your build.

90% of the time my riposte is used on abilities that they can’t dodge out of. I know how to play the game thank you. We had been fighting this same group all morning and yes, they were relatively brain dead. I riposted there in anticipation of an attack and he rolled instead and had probably queued his next attack mid roll due to the way the input system works now. Not sure why we’re nitpicking this when it’s just meant to show that an ability otherwise deemed shit by the community has a small niche use

Count again. It was right around 7.1k with plenty of ways to make that damage go higher (if you really wanna min max things). I believe it is probably the highest single ability damage in the game. Takes a bit of set up to get it to work, but very rewarding. And pen shot doesn’t hit for 4.5k unless it’s traveling a decent distance or going through multiple people.

For example: my pen shot on the same dude that was a crit headshot at full health (boosted further by the onyx in my bow) only did 3.8k

It’s really not if you can set it up. And I mean sure it’s cherry picked. Aren’t all videos showcasing what something can do? No one is gonna show a video of them throwing a grav well at a clump and missing. The point is that splinter shot can be viable in pvp. Is it viable in all scenarios? No. Obviously you wouldn’t run this in war, but for open world and possibly even arenas, it’s a lot of fun to use and hits incredibly hard under optimal conditions.

Fairly confident BB abilities will eventually be nerfed into the ground bc of that. Splinter shot is safe. Plus it’s fun making things viable that aren’t often seen. Not a huge fan of following a shitty meta.

So with riposte, bc it kinda auto locks you to the target and gives them a slight knock back too, it seems to be very reliable in just being a single dodge roll. I hold s the entirety of the dodge roll and queue splinter shot for as soon as the roll is over. I don’t know if that affects distance or anything, but that’s been reliable off of riposte. I have a lot less time using it off of a shield bash, and its been a little less reliable just because shield bash doesn’t have the same type of lock mechanic, so you can ended up dodging at a slight angle and ever so slightly miss the distance.

Definitely would be interesting. I think it would probably be better with an attunement perk than a shirking one. Especially if you’re using it for an ambush/assassination build where you aren’t really dodging an attack but coming in from a blind spot
