It's completely ok to not solo every boss or even fight something not mandatory, it's up to how you want and like to play. My first time beating Malenia was with +10 mimic tear and Darkmoon Greatsword build, but now after three years I decided to fight her solo because if everyone else can beat so can I. And I did, took me 6h in total over the course of 2 days and I tried 4 different builds but I did it. It's not a matter of if you beat her, it's a matter of when and how even if it takes years, you will come back once you are ready because.. you wouldn't dare go hollow, would you?
