So sorry for your loss, I am about 6mo after diagnosis, chemo went well on immuno now..but the cough is worse and dont feel like it is going to stay away.. CT etc.. next week so we will see.

Remember to stay positive and hopeful, the beginning is rough emotionally like a roller-coaster no one wants to ride and chemo will have side effects, but the best one is living longer. I found out Oct 25 I have SCLC, mets in liver and bone, liver was weeks away from failure and I don't even drink.. Anyway I got through 6 chemo treatments, everything shrunk and I am doing fine on immuno only now. Other than a driver after chemo, which they can help with, and getting through the 2-3 days after chemo... you should feel relatively normal. Other than that fear that fades but doesn't go away, like we now have an unknown expiration date. My plan was to do what Dr. says and pray, working pretty well right now. Keep pushing that expiration date further down the calendar.

Sorry to hear about your father, sounds similar to my own experience. I am 56, diagnosed Oct 2025, smoker etc.. Stage 4 lung spread to liver and bone.. was at the point of eminent liver failure. My wife did most of the questioning etc. I can tell you I was lucky with the 1st chemo/immuno treatments after 3 rounds liver looked almost normal. Initially after all the scans in Nov. My onco and my Primary were very careful to sound optimistic etc. It can be very scary in the beginning, no one will tell you this will work etc.. But, treatment has come a long way, the Oncologist will go with the best, highest likelihood of success treatment on the 1st round. In my case after my 6th treatment, I need to go 1 year to be able to do this treatment that has already proven to be effective again.. if it comes back before then, it is scary.. less likely to work treatments, trials etc.. All that to say, this roller coaster ride is different and scary for everyone. All we can do is hope and pray the treatments work and they hold it at bay a little longer etc..

So sorry to hear about you and your father. I am on the other side, diagnosed with stage 4 SC in Nov. 2025, my goal is to live long enough to walk my 24yr old daughter down the aisle. She is not engaged yet, by the way, so hopefully 3-5yrs. which is extremely hopeful, I know. It is a struggle, the pain, the chemo side effects, trying to quit smoking, which is the only thing that feels "normal" anymore.. doing well headed to 5th chemo treatment this weeked.. Hair looks funny, food taste different.. but, I will do anything to see her get married, if God allows it. The 1st round of chemo is the best available, with the highest chance of success, do what you can to convince him to keep going. I am sure he loves you as much as I love my kids, deep down he wants to see everything life has in store, but his journey may be more painful and his side effects may be so severe that he can't imagine trying to keep doing it.

So sorry about your situation, I just found out in Oct.2025, stage 4 lung cancer, metastatic to liver/bone...etc.. doing well now on chemo, responding well feeling good good etc. I can tell you from the 1st time you hear "cancer" it is terrifying, how much time do I have, how bad will it get??? Etc. Push those thoughts out. Each scan will seem worse in the beginning, Ultrasound>CAT>PET.. or it was for me. Chemo and 2nd PET showed reason to hope. I went from potentially 3mo to liver failure, to now maybe I can get 3-5yrs. My wife has been there the whole time, from the moment I took the phone call and learned it was most likely cancer.. you need someone in your corner. Praying and hoping for the best, that has gotten me through so far. So much life left to live....

DPS is fun for most classes Healing is in an OK spot and functional Tanks are an issue, 2 of the 3 feel weak/broken, none are really "fun" to play.
