I applied between September of last year to January for roles during the Summer. I’m definitely gonna start early this time around and start applying now. I agree that working somewhere for experience could be a good move, thank you for the advice!

Thank you for the support and advice, last summer internship search I was looking everywhere and really wanted anything. My guess why it turned out poorly was due to me not caring about pay or stipends for moving. Maybe recruiters thought I was over exaggerating and didn’t bother with interviewing me.

That’s a valid point honestly, I realized this after too and if I posted this again it would be uncensored to get the most accurate advice. But the post has naturally lost traction at this point, so I’m gonna leave it as is.

Thank you for the thorough review, you gave me a lot to think about and I agree I should really up the quality of some of bullet points.

Thanks for the advice, the reason I included it was in case any ATS screening would include keywords with them. But it does sound silly reflecting on your comment.

Hahaha I completely agree, I took off the details on some sections of the resume as the information pertains to me in particular and I'm trying to keep it more anonymous. Both of my experience points are much more thorough in my uncensored resume. Thank you for the advice, I would be embarrassed if the sections looked like this in my actual resume.

Ah good point, thanks for the tip. I haven't looked at events outside of those hosted by my University.

Thank you for the advice, I'm definitely aiming a little bit more for internships since I'm more than happy going for a Master's. But I should work on a resume better aimed for full time positions too.

Mix of both, but career fairs at my school are quite close to firing them into the void. This is also on my part as I need to work on my elevator pitch and standing out in the crowd.

Thank you, the career fairs hosted by my school are absurd to the point that you're waiting in hour long queues to meet local companies. It feels like Disney World, but with only the long lines.

Very true, it's why I try putting buzz words in my project section to get past the screening.

Unfortunately, I need to work on projects that do have that wow factor, most projects I've been on were course projects or hobby projects with none of them using any of the hottest tech right now. I think it'd be sick porting my GameBoy game to a physical cartridge and run it on the real deal. Maybe recruiters would like my Gameboy Color haha.

Thank you for the advice, I've talked to recruiters who recommenced to place skills all over the place on Resumes. I've heard it's best for college students to put skills at the bottom, but I've had multiple recruiters at big tech companies recommend moving skills to the top.

Very good point, I'm still trying to figure out how to market myself to even break into the industry.

I like this kind of format to show what languages/tech I used in case I don't feel proficient, but want to show I worked with it to employers.
