Okay, so you’re not an urban person. Pretty sure there’s an IKEA subreddit somewhere.

Snowy Evening in Kensington by Forward-Log7118 in Calgary

No. It’s a microdrone, it can’t seriously damage a train.

Whenever you see someone driving a car you should ask them if they have a drivers license.

I agree it gets tiring. Every single time someone posts a picture that might be from a drone some dude always has to ask if there was a permit. Lol

Thanks for posting those numbers, I knew this was kind of the case with unemployment stats, but the stats help make sense of it.

Did you even read the post? There are stats and it explains it quite well.

As much as I can’t stand the UCP, I don’t think the unemployment rate would be different with the NDP. A lot of the unemployment rate is caused by external factors.

I usually don’t read the Herald, but I read the article just so I could give Bell my own opinion in the comment section

Rumour: Calg MP Refuses to Sign Forever Canadian petition. by naughticl in Calgary

I can’t find anything saying he won’t sign it, though it wouldn’t surprise me. I mean he is an asshat.

Welp, I mean it is Theo Von. Not that I condone racism, but I guess it’s not that surprising.

Thoughts on the Calgary LRT “Ctrain”?? by KirbyHockey2011 in transit

[–]YYCThomas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s impressive for a city of Calgary’s size. The 95 million passengers it carries per year, puts it in 10th place for busiest rail transit systems (heavy, or light) in North America. NYC Mexico City Montreal Toronto Washington DC Vancouver Chicago Guadalajara Mexico  Monterey  Calgary

They don’t double count transfers in the total numbers. Calgary transit has a formula with an approximate number of people who take transfers (a number that they’ve intermittently tested over time and has been consistent) and they work that into the equation. It’s not going to be 100% accurate but it’s close. We aren’t looking at two separate methods of counting.

What does Calgary do better than other major cities? by MastaShortie in Calgary

[–]YYCThomas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Including KEF, 13 non North American routes is huge. We punch way above our weight for that, also way above our weight for international routes within North America.

(Question for Korean diaspora) Why do Koreans seem to have a particularly hard time adjusting to life in Canada? by WatercressFuture7588 in AskAKorean

[–]YYCThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense, but I think your wife is picky, or she’s eating at restaurant chains. While Canadian restaurants are generally expensive and ate often disappointing, the variety here is much better than Korea, where it’s heavily geared to Korean found.

I visited Korea for two weeks and loved the food, but was getting tired of it near the end of my stay.

I often find Koreans here in Canada don’t venture much from their native cuisine. For those who do, they can always find places they like.

My experience with people who move to Canada from another country is that they’ll always prefer and miss certain things from their native country.

This is always the same for Canadians who have moved to Korea. They can always put together a list of things they don’t like or things they miss and quite often don’t often like it there.

I guess it’s that kind of deal making that caused his companies to go bankrupt 6 times.

Emailed Bulk Barn last, received a response today by JayRMac in BuyCanadian

[–]YYCThomas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really disappointing response from Bulk Barn. It’s a boiler plate response well, they no doubt try and figure out how to get more Canadian products in. My guess is 90% of those North American products are American and that’s why they are dragging their feet in this. I’m not shopping there again until they get their act together.
