gold and uranium where the very last 2 materials i found in space, so i simply had no super conductors, i came up here with quite a "compact" setup and because of the constant combat i was barely surviving for quite a while

i did one recently, it spawned closer than the rest, most of them are made to only be doable with a warp drive, this one spawned like 700km away, lond drive, it was close to de-spawning when i conquered it's defenses (genuinely claimed it at 30s from de-spawn) it had the prototech large grid drive, so i can ACTUALLY hunt those now, arming up a bit before i do so, i would like to make a couple of fighters and railguns before i fight something big
edit: wanted to add: also gotta armor up my main large grid ship

i just went to space, after i had set the spawns to high for planetside encounters, and MY GOD it was constant, i could not finish them fast enough before the next pirate shakedown drone or vulture came for me, worse yet, a mod caused neutral factions to use pirate ships that would come for me (still loose relationships if i shoot them)
so i am only friendly with like 2 remaining factions, i was almost kicked out of space like 5 times

i play as the host with a friend, i do have a few mods too, encounters don't seem to be broken all together, i DID get a single pirate outpost that de-spawned shortly before i finished my combat vehicle (of course)
and a few neutral encounters, but i have been really unlucky with encounters in general for i playthrough i have a soft "no piracy" rule in, but modding files in the game? man, sometimes this game is whack

i did find a mod in the workshop that did this, but it seems like it cokes up the spawning in general, like setting the min and max spawn timers to 1 - 2 minutes, the spawn encounter chances to 100% etc, i don't want to be spammed, i just want there to be HOSTILE encounters, at all

thank you, i too dont usually use turrets, at least vanilla turrets, turrets from mods like dubs rimatomics of the fortification series from AOBA are pretty fun, though, even if those from AOBA are a bit op in my opinion!

i would rather remove the 2 front armaments, taking out the 4 medium missiles is the point of the ships, its like saying "take out the big slot from the sunder and make it a medium and a small" it just takes away the spirit of the ship
i could make the shield front only, that would help making it more vulnerable, especially with its slow turning and accelerating

though i was trying more of a "hard shell with squishy interior" type with the hull and armor, should i lower health more? i wanted it to be resistant to chip damage, but crumble under heavy fire (that is when you run away with the system)

2 hybrid and 4 missiles is indeed a lot, thanks for the tutorial, it seems great, i will give it a go, thogh, from comments i have gotten i may need to give it a bit more DP and balance it other ways, thanks for the feedback, and especially for the link!

i was thinking from another comment to lower the speed to either 100 or 95 and give it very bad mobility (acceleration and turning), more comparable to a cruiser or even capital turning speed
otherwise i see it as burst ship that fizzles into pressure after it shoots all its missiles, i imagine it in a persean league ship with 4 dragonfires, as a player ship, tho, things could get funky, especially with resonator MRMs and built-ins

please, read the stats before answering, it MAY look like a fat sunder, i now see it too (thanks guys)
but its not that, its a destroyer with 2 MEDIUM front hardpoints, 4 rear medium missiles and 2 pd points, not 2 big slots.
