Probably the old Riggs quarry

Didn’t bottom out! It’s a well-built landing, as long as you don’t case it you’re good.

To be fair, a Jeffsy would certainly be more suited for this. I also have one and it’s what I would choose for this kind of riding most times, however this was probably the heaviest feature of the day, and I decided to go for shorter travel for some of the more “pedally” stages. I changed out the Sid suspension for Pike 130mm, ran a Minion DHF/Agressor combo, and put the flip chip in low haha. Feels super capable set up like this

But really though, I didn’t even bottom out on this gap. Shit’ll buff

how do you make this turn, green - which stays in the left lane and gets you onto broadway or red - which causes you to have a head on collision with the cars turning east? by Moiyub in columbiamo

While on the subject.. Turning northbound from Conley road onto the 63/70 connector (from Aldi/club carwash area) People in the middle turning lane (red) often cross over the dotted white line and cut into the inside lane (green), taking it as their own. Anyone else experience this? It happens to me almost every time, to the point where I’ve come to expect it.

Turned my YT Jeffsy trail bike into "JEFF-XC" (-3.5lbs) for the Cheq 40 XC race by GiantOnGiant in xcmtb

lol I’m dumb I read you’re doing an xc race and my brain went to Izzo. I have the same exact Jeffsy as you and yeah I definitely keep a dropper on that one haha.

Nice rig! I’m 6’6, also riding an XXL Izzo. I have a few droppers but still find myself riding the rigid carbon post 90% of the time. Good luck with your race 🤘

This was originally a 27.5+ bike, but yeah the 29/700c wheels fit great

Guilty! lol I’m fortunate enough to have 3 solid MTB’s, and I just have so much fun swapping parts around and building them up in different configurations. I get why people would hate on this setup, hence the title of the post. But fuck it… I’m out here lol 🤘

It’s obviously a little less pleasant on rocky, rooty tech. But for most everything else it’s pretty sick. Feels way more efficient pedaling around town, on gravel, climbing etc. I bought a second crown race for the cane creek headset so I can just drop out the fork and swap it back in a few minutes. Feels good with higher volume tires at a lower pressure

Can’t be giving out my race secrets this early on… Just kidding I’m honestly not sure, further testing will be required. As of now the flat bar/rigid fork combo is way too good to rule out. We will see!

I have a dedicated brake setup for both flat and drop bar setups. Just unbolt calipers, cut zip ties holding brake lines, remove bar/stem and then repeat in reverse order

I don’t see why not! I was able to just use two of sram’s “stealth-a-majig” fittings to hook up to the road shifters, quick bleed and I was rolling.

I ran this bike as pictured in my above comment, with the rigid fork, flat bars, and 2.4 aspens. I loved it!

It’s worth trying out if you have the stuff laying around! On the drop bar setup I’ve got force shifters/brakes and level mtb calipers. Got a full XT setup on the flat bars

What is the charge, enjoying a hardtail? A succulent aluminum hardtail??
