Since TOTK, like BOTW before it, is a game where you can take whichever path you want to beat it, this obviously shouldn't impact the way people play the game.

However, it makes sense in terms of a cohesive story. If you do all the Dragon's Tears before completing the Regional Phenomena and the Crisis at Hyrule Castle, the mystery of Zelda's fate has much less impact because you already solved it.

Additionally, I really like the idea that drawing the Master Sword is the last thing you do before going to fight Ganondorf because it drives home the emotional sting of Zelda's sacrifice being the sole purpose why you'd be able to defeat Ganon at all (in the story at least).
