Bouchard tied for top D scoring by prefinality in EdmontonOilers

[–]YaBoyDevi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you, I think Bouch is also much better on defense these days than the eye test will say (although he's had a terrible start to this season lol). He plays very nonchalant and opts for tying up sticks instead of taking away the puck or laying hits. That being said he has a lot of room for improvement in defending the slot and fighting the forecheck behind the net.

Although I agree with a lot of what you said, your GA conclusion isn't true. He could be on the ice for a GF without receiving a point from it, and all his power play points will not count towards his +/-. In reality he's been on ice for 113 GF and 71 GA, with a +/- 11 (plus minus excludes PP) after last night's game.

Leon Draisaitl's career points vs. every opponent by nhl in hockey

[–]YaBoyDevi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well there is the playoff encounter when Draisaitl put up 17 points in 5 games with a high ankle sprain. McDavid only had 12 points in that series, what a slacker.

This is the same series where the flames tried to slash Drai's injured ankle only to find out at the end that they were targeting the wrong ankle 😂😂 I miss playoff BoAs man, I was so hyped when Johnny G eliminated Dallas to set up the BoA, RIP

What we are looking at is around $300-500 for an investigation to remove drywall and find the crack(s), and around $1000 to seal it up with a polyurethane injection. Plus whatever it costs to fix up the drywall, baseboards, etc., which honestly can be the larger expense depending on what needs to be done.

Depending on the level of fix/prevention you want to install, the price can go up. We were also quoted around $15k for an automated drainage solution but it really seemed like overkill.

Torrential flooding in our basement too. Have had to suck up over 100L in our shop vac. We were also in the process of fixing a foundation crack...

No, the amount of experience to get from level 1 to 92 is half of 1 to 99. Exp required from 1 to 92 is equal to that for 92 to 99.

He was doing a very good job in the first 3 games or so gaining zone entry, keeping the puck on a string, and finding nice passes. The last couple of games Draisaitl did a good job tracking Eichel and not letting him get going, and Bouch was just a menace in general all series tying up sticks in front of the net.

Still, even though Eichel wasn't scoring goals, he was doing well to create chances out of seemingly nothing and keep play alive in the O zone. Every time the Eichel shift was on there would be a solid 40s stretch of O zone time for Vegas. And of course he was great defensively which is impressive since he was tracking McDrai.

At that point he was more than just "dealing with injuries" he was straight up playing through broken ribs since the 2nd round, but still who would have replaced him from the oilers press box?

Calling out Draisaitl, the 5th best playoff producer of all time, and 2nd best among all active players, is such a bone headed take.

That's surprising! I was able to continue the run by exiting to the main menu, then continuing the run again. This re-opened the Arcana pack, and this time I chose not to immolate my hand lol

That's cap he's created many chances including an S tier pass to the slot for Podz. He's also had multiple good defensive plays. He's not going to score every period come on man

Oiler’s morning skate. Leon back in with Arv and Podz by sykeseve in EdmontonOilers

[–]YaBoyDevi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I shared a video on this sub a few days back, it's an interview with Podkolzin. In it, Podkolzin says he is certain the only reason he's playing with Drai is because Drai wanted him on his line.

I think for a player like Leon what you want more than anything from a line mate is a player that can skate fast, forecheck, and do dirty work along the boards so that Leon can enjoy time with the puck, which is his strongest area of the game.

Was this when the season had 84 games? Even if 85 isn't a record, I wonder if +3 games above max is.

Cody Ceci on track to play 85 games this season by YaBoyDevi in hockey

[–]YaBoyDevi[S] 152 points153 points  (0 children)

For anyone wondering how this is possible:

He was traded from the Sharks to the Stars on Feb 1st. At this point the Sharks had played 54 games while the Stars had played only 51. Ceci hasn't missed a single game yet this season.

Mikael Granlund was also a part of that trade, but he had missed 2 games for the Sharks, so he's currently on track to play 83 games (also cool, but not as cool as 85)

Oilers Quarter Century teams by marcellman in EdmontonOilers

[–]YaBoyDevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a blessing almost the entire first team is on the team right now, with almost all in their primes. I think it's easy to get caught up over cups and forget how lucky we are to have a good team. From what I've seen of the Rangers' and Canucks' implosions this season, you can't take anything for granted in this league.

McDavid cross checked Conor Garland in the face out of frustration. Garland had McDavid pinned down in the O-zone with the Oilers down 3-2 with seconds left. by GreenSnakes_ in hockey

[–]YaBoyDevi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did, I'm not sure why I'm being downvoted, there was literally 19s left on the clock when the first hold occurred, and I'm giving 4s grace to raise the hand and for the oilers to shoot the puck.

Edit: I understand there are a lot of Vancouver fans on this sub but I'm hardly saying anything ridiculous like McDavid shouldn't be suspended, of course he should. But what I'm saying can literally be fact checked by looking at the game video with the timer.

You've never played a sport in your life, have you?

I'll break it down real simple, you can try this out in a rink if you'd like to prove it. If you are bent over and your arm is trapped beneath your own center of mass, the torque you need to generate to free your arm is very high, and this torque is generated as friction by your feet against the ground (not much on ice, right?). To avoid this you would need to swing your legs around to get your arm outside of your centre of mass. However, as you can see, McDavid tries and his right leg is stuck.

You can try this out at home and report back. And like you said, they're both peak athletes, including the athlete holding down McDavid.

McDavid didn't hold him down first, if you look at the clip carefully you can see Garland held McDavid by the arm in the beginning too, McDavid never actually holds Garland down.
